Acceptable Evidence of Knowledge

1. Guided Activity: Students will share with their

classmates their prior knowledge of the rainforest.
They will pair up and do a pair-share.
2. Practice: Students will practice the vocabulary by
repeating the new words after being cued.
3. Guided Practice: Students will listen to a passage
and then read silently and answer the questions
4. Guided Practice: Students will watch a video and
answer questions.
5. Practice: Students will be able to construct the
rainforest that they would like to visit.
6. Final: Students will complete 2 post it notes with
sentences of 2 things they learned from the

Procedure

1. First students will do a pair-share activity. With

their partner they will share what they know about
rain forests and what they want to know. Then
they will share 2 things they hope to learn in
English or Spanish. (Warm-up 2mins)
2. Students will complete a worksheet in Spanish
about sloths. First I will read aloud the passage
and then they will read silently to themselves and
then answer the questions. We will then go over
the answers. (5 mins)
3. I will present the new vocabulary to the students.
I will show them the flashcard with the image of
the word and then show them the word. I will do
this one time and then ask them to repeat after
me. (5 mins)
4. I will show the students a video and they will
have a list of things they will look for based on
the new vocabulary. (5mins)
5. Students will then construct a picture of the
rainforest they will include what they want to see
if they were to visit the rainforest. (3mins)

Assessment/ Evidence

I will use formative assessment tools; I will walk

around and check for progress while the students are
completing the activity. My closure is another form of
evidence because I will require the students to put
their names on the post-it note.

Closure

As a closure the students will be given two post-it

notes and they will be instructed to write down to
things that they learned during the lesson. Ex: El
perezoso vive en centro america.

Accommodations/ Support Staff

I will be walking around and checking on the students

and assisting when needed.

Resources

Time Required

The lesson will take around 20 minutes to complete.

Reflection

After the lesson I will check over the post-it notes and
see what the students learned. If they did not retain
the information I will make sure to review and reteach
where needed.
