Dear Brother and Sister Elks,

November is the month in which we as American acknowledge and thank our
Veterans. On November 14 the lodge hosted a benefit show by the Lewiston Elks
Enterrtainers. 100% of the proceeds went to Honor Flight Maine . Thanks to the cast
and the people who came to the show and especially Laurie Sidelinger for arraigning
the show and getting food during intermission. The next day First Lady Cecile
Paradis hosted a craft fair at the lodge with all proceeds going to Maine Children
Cancer Fund. With a cause like that it wasn't hard to sell tables. It was a great success . The event went
so well that the crafters wanted to do another fair, so on December 13 from 8 to 4 there will be another
Christmas Fair. Won't you please come support these crafts people and the lodge and maybe get some
Christmas shopping done at the same time. PER Karen Staples has been very busy with the Dictionary
project. She has made arrangements with local schools and has distributed hundreds of dictionary's to
local third graders. This is a big undertaking but Karen makes it look so easy. Thank you Karen .
On November 22 we had our District Deputy visit. Thank you to the DD suite for the great inspection
and advice you gave us. As you all know the Officers this year have never held an office in any Elks
Lodge. This group has worked extremely hard with long hours to get everything in order to be
prepared for this visit. I would like to thank each and everyone of you for your dedication to the
lodge.
The memorial service will be December 6 at 10am. Please come remember and honor the memories of
our fellow Elks that are no longer with us. Remember Elks are never forgotten, never forsaken.
We are looking forward to the Children's Christmas party on December 12 at 1pm. We will be visited
by Santa and Mrs. Clause. Come celebrate Christmas with you Elks Family.at the Members Party on
December 18. We will have a pot luck dinner and dont forget to bring a gift fof arounf $10.00 for the
Chinese auction of around $10.00. This is always a good time.
The Officers of Lewiston Elks Lodge 371 would like to wish all our members and Elks around the
State and your Families a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS and a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Sincerely yours in Elkdom

From the Secretary

Lodge ENF giving: How much have you donated to ENF this year? The Elks National Foundation, like all Elks, values the belief
that charity is the greatest of all virtues and that by sharing and giving we have the power to replace sorrow and despair with
hope and confidence. When you give to the Elks National Foundation, you're funding projects that improve the quality of life in
our local community. Funded projects include the Elks National Drug Awareness, Hoop Shoot and The Elks National Veterans
Service Commission. Donations to the Foundation help us fund these programs that match our cornerstone values of knowledge,
integrity and community. We are pledged to $10 per member and sadly, with four months remaining in the Elk Year our Lodges
giving to ENF currently amounts to fifty cents per member. Again, I ask, how much have you donated?
Congratulations to Emile Cloutier, Leonard Feinstein, William Hird, Norris Ingersoll, Marcel Moore and Robert Poulin on their
election into the distinct ranks of Life Membership during the first Lodge meeting in November.
