Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) is an all India common entrance examination

conducted to provide admission in various engineering courses. The entrance


examination is being conducted into two parts, JEE-Main and JEE-Advanced.
Candidates who clear IIT-JEE main examination are eligible to appear for IIT-JEE
advance which provides and entry to IITs.
Exam Structure for JEE main:
JEE Main 2015 shall have two papers, Paper-1 (B.E / B.Tech) and Paper-2 (B.Arch /
B.Planning). Candidates may take Paper-1 (B.E /B.Tech), or Paper-2 (B.Arch /
B.Planning), or both as per the courses, they are seeking admission for.
The paper would be of 3 hour duration and there would be two papers.

There would be a total of 96 questions in the exam, and the maximum marks would be
360. Each correct answer by the student would provide 4 marks and each wrong answer
by the candidate would result in the deduction of 1 mark.
Number of attempts: The number of attempts that a candidate can make for JEE Main
is limited to three.

JEE Advanced 2016 Question Papers:


The question papers will consist of objective type (multiple choice) and

numerical answer type questions designed to test comprehension, reasoning and


analytical ability of candidates.
Incorrect answers to some of the questions will be awarded negative marks.
The question paper will be in either English or Hindi. Candidates must

exercise the choice of question paper language while registering for JEE Advanced
2016. Change of question paper language will not be entertained after the
registration.
JEE Advanced 2016 Optical Response Sheet
The answer sheet of JEE Advanced 2016 is a machine-readable ORS.
Candidates will be given a two-page ORS. The two pages of the ORS will have

the same lay-out.


The first page of the ORS is machine readable. It is designed so as to leave
impressions of the responses on the second page.

They should not separate or disturb the alignment of the two pages of the ORS

at any stage and under any circumstance.


The answers to all the questions should be marked on the first page of the

ORS by darkening the appropriate bubble or bubbles (as per the instructions given in
the question paper).
Candidates should use black ball point pen for darkening the bubbles.
They should apply adequate pressure to ensure that a proper impression is
made on the second page of the ORS. Other instructions for darkening the bubbles
will be printed on the question paper and candidates must strictly adhere to these
instructions. The second page of the ORS will be handed over to them by the
invigilator at the end of the examination.

The IIT JEE (Advanced) 2015 exams were held on May 24.
While 102,385 male students registered for the IIT JEE advanced 2015 exam, 96,895 actually
appeared and 23,407 passed. Of the 22,355 girl students who registered, 20,342 appeared and
3,049 cleared the exam.
