Our Story
Four years ago, our founder Robert Workman set out to change
the world, equipped only with a humanitarian heart and a small
team of passionate, dedicated individuals. Their goal: to grant all
people the bare necessities of a civilized life. On their journey,
however, they found that the support structures for such a task
were inefficient, long outdated, or altogether nonexistent. From
this realization came the inspiration for Barebones.
Barebones is about supplying the bare necessities for living - food,
water, shelter, and power - in the most efficient and independent
way possible to any location around the world. We design and
manufacture sustainable garden products to use from seed to
harvest, as well as the toughest, most comfortable living shelters,
portable power systems, and outdoor products on the market.
Our sister company, Goal Zero, is the leader in portable rugged
solar technology. Between Barebones and Goal Zero, we are
fulfilling our vision to improve quality of life for all.
