Hellraiser for Call of Cthulhu

Leviatan - Lord of the Labrynth

"The god of flesh, hunger, and desire."
It's true form has never been seen, even by it's servants. Only the avatars of Leviathan are seen
and the form these take is determined by the ruling Cenobite.
It is the creator and master of the Cenobites and all of Hell's citizens. It desires souls. It
discharges a constant black beam that bares a person's dark soul to themselves, often driving the
target mad.
It resides in an alternate dimension, which for want of a better name, has become known as Hell.
It had Julia bring Dr. Channard into Hell so it could make him into a Cenobite. When all of its
Cenobites were killed and Tiffany solved the Box from a diamond to a cube, it turned into a giant
Lament Configuration. It then closed all of the doors to Hell that had been opened.

These characteristics are only representative of a single avatar of Leviathan.
If an avatar is by some way destroyed, all of the minions within that particular Malkuth and the
Malkuth itself vanish. Any investigators caught inside vanish as well and become part of the new
Malkuth that forms from the old within a few hours.
(whoever is responsible for the destruction of the avatar is usually made Geburah of the new
Malkuth)
MALKUTHS AND THE REALM OF HELL
Malkuths are the personal realms of Leviathan. They are found as part of the realm of hell. Each
Malkuth has an avatar of Leviathan contained within and is ruled by a Cenobite Geburah with
several Cenobite Cheza as assistants and many Qlipoth as guards.
Malkuths are powered by the suffering of those inside. It will house many Pillars of Souls that fuel
Leviathan. There will also be a number of personal hells. Those who have annoyed the Geburah
will have a part of the Malkuth dedicated to making their existences as sweet as possible for the
attendant Cenobites.
Every Malkuth appears very different. They are formed by the ruling Geburah in whatever image
he wishes and he can change it at any time. They all, though, have a highly oppressive
atmosphere, giving the impression of suffering to all those who visit it. However, due to the type
of being chosen to be a Geburah, they also tend to be arranged in a logical manner.
At the centre is Leviathan. The particular appearance of Leviathan will normally bear a
resemblance to the style of Lament Configuaration employed by the ruling Geburah. To make
sure that all the attendant Cenobites are fulfilling their duties, Leviathan absorbs all their
memories whenever they are near its presence by using it's blast of guilt. It returns those
memories which it approves of the most to act as guidance for the future. Although this is
extremely distressing for any visitors, Cenobites actually enjoy the procedure because they get to
relive their greatest triumphs purified of any extraneous background.
The Malkuth not only powers Leviathan, but also the very realm. The power is represented by two
factors. First, all Ruachs within the Malkuth will have a reduced power cost, from -1 to -10
depending on the power of the Malkuth. Also all skill rolls required for resident creatures are at
+20% within the Malkuth. It is very dangerous to take on the Cenobites on their own turf.
There is only one way to escape from a Malkuth. A physical representation of suffering must make
contact with something of value to the captured being, which is usually the place where he made
the leap to the Malkuth. The most strong willed have been known to send visions to those close to
them in order for this to happen, but that is only if they are in a hell rather than consigned to a
Pillar.
Even once escaped, there are problems. There is always a taint on the being due to her capture
and torture, though this changes with the escape so it is more difficult to track down. Also, if they

have been consigned to a Pillar, then there is no body for them to escape in, and one must be
created by repeating what happened to allow the initial escape.
Cenobites
Cenobites are creations of Leviathan.
Humans may become Cenobites in a transformation chamber. In it, their bodies are mutilated and
marked by various sharp objects and gashes, and their blood is replaced by a blue fluid.
Cenobites can be summoned from Hell when someone solves the Lament Configuration. They
cannot return to Hell without bringing someone with them.
Their power grows as they age, but there seem to be three main types of Cenobite, the Geburah,
the Berashith and the Cheza.
It should be noted that all Cenobites are immune to mortal weaponry. The reasons for this are
many, but none are confirmed.
By far the most common theory is that because they are not completely from the realm of earth,
they cannot be affected by it.
However, this seems to only hold true while they are in hell itself. Upon entering our world, they
lose some of this immunity (How much ? I leave that to the individual Dm)
GEBURAH, Prince of Hell
Geburah are the lieutenants of Leviathan in hell. They are granted real power upon creation, but
they can gain power with age like all Cenobites. They rule their own segment of hell, known as a
Malkuth. Occasionally a Geburah is created without a Malkuth and must battle an existing
Geburah and his minions to gain one. This generally only happens when an existing Geburah
requires punishment and/or replacement.
Some Geburah are particulary powerful Cheza, who have been rewarded by Leviathan with their
own Malkuth. Leviathan has been known to punish the occasional Geburah who did not conform
to the rules of hell.
Pinhead and Dr Channard are examples of Geburah. Channard was created to replace Pinhead
when he broke the rules of hell by allowing Tiffany to go free.
BERASHITH
They are special Geburah, who guard the Lament Configuartions on Earth and 'aid' would be
worshippers of Leviathan to achieve glory. They are usually less powerful than the Geburah who
rules Malkuths and are tied to a particular Malkuth.
The bearded man who follows Kirsty and rescues the Lament Configuration from the fire at the
end of the first film is an example.

Cheza are the recruited Cenobites of the Geburah.
They are generally not as powerful, although some have managed to become Geburah in their
own right, usually when their master has weakened and was thus destroyed.
They are similar in appearance to Geburah, but tend to be less pale in colour.

The Cultists of Leviathan
PHRIXUS
These are the cultists of Leviathan. They obey one Geburah (or Berashith) and help Leviathan to
fight its subtle battles on Earth, destroying other cults and religions and fighting to help
Leviathan's views become more prevalent.
They usually have their flesh carved into an imitation of the pattern of the Lament Configuration
of their Malkuth.
Their work has recently included the move to make 'S&M' more acceptable, and the Middle East is
another favorite hunting ground of theirs.
Grimoire - The Gifts of Leviathan
SPELLS FOR DEMONS
Ruach
These are the powers of the followers of Leviathan. They are all powered by the Lament
Configuration carved into them all.

All the Ruach's should be personalised for the specific follower. The Cenobites have a great
presence and style about them, and their powers should reflect this. The same is often true for
cultists. To take Pinhead as an example everyone should be familiar with; his Rending the Flesh is
the fish hooks on chains; his flesh has been sculpted in the classic gridded head; he insists that
all his Cenobites adopt a blue skin; whenever an equivalent of Leaving the Realm is done in the
films, you see the lights penetrating the slats in the walls.
These all add to the personality of Pinhead, and any Followers created should have an equally
personal style.
The Core pattern is known to all Cenobites in it's entirety and may be taught to chosen cultists.
The High pattern powers are known to powerful Geburah only. They usually know 1-3 of these
powers, including Summon Malkuth Case which is required to create Cheza.
For other patterns :
The first power is known by all Cenobites and chosen cultists.
The second and third powers are known by all cenobites.
The third, fourth and fifth powers are known only to Geburah.
Core Pattern
Contact Leviathan
Cost: N/A
This allows the follower to contact Leviathan directly. This costs 2d10 SAN due to the alien nature
of the being.
It usually results in a visit from a Berashith within a few days.
Contact Cenobite
Cost: N/A
This allows the follower to contact a known Cenobite directly. This costs 1d4 SAN due to the
strange nature of the cenobites.
Cenobites contacted in this way often make a permanent link to the person in question, in order
to manipulate them.
Overcome Flaws in the Flesh
Cost: 3 magic points minimum
Duration: 2d12 days per 3 magic points invested
This removes wounds from the Follower. 1 hit point is healed per 3 magic points invested. This
places a configuration over the flesh so that if the flesh is weak, the configuration will perform
instead. This will appear very strange for some wounds, even filling in a portion of arm to connect
a hand to the rest of the body.
Enhance Configuration
Cost: 5 magic points minimum
Duration: 2d12 days per 5 magic points invested
Every thing that is the Follower is contained within the Configuration carved into her. This Ruach
lets power flow into the configuration to boost the attributes of the Follower. Every 5 magic points
provide a +1 to an attribute of the Follower's choice.
Absorb Suffering
Cost: N/A
Duration: N/A
The Follower can now refuel her Lament Configuration directly by torturing a being, and
absorbing its suffering directly. This requires a successful Torture skill roll, after which 1 magic
point can be absorbed per hour of torture.
Empower Area
Cost: Var.
Duration: 2d12 days per 5 magic points invested
Power can be given to an area to give it the property of a Malkuth in reducing the cost of Ruach
by giving it an aura of suffering. For every 5 magic points spent, the area has 10m radius and a
reduction in cost of 1. For every 10 spent, the area also has a +5 modifier to all Ruach skills.
Mind Pattern
Assess Worshipper
Cost: N/A
Duration: 2d12 hours

This Ruach allows the follower to scan the mind and body of a being. It can allow study of
emotional patterns and anything unusual about the body. Its main use is for assessing potential
'worshippers,' to see if they are fit for the task, though also very useful for general spying.
Persuasion
Cost: 1-3 magic points
Duration: Var.
The Cenobite can implant suggestions, or charm someone. The duration and strength of the
effect are variable.
Free One's Own Mind
Cost: 3 magic points minimum
Duration: 2d6 hours
The Follower can now affect her own mind to such an extent that she can concentrate on multiple
items at the same time. Every 3 magic points spent grants the Follower an extra item of thought.
This can allow multiple Ruach's to be utilised in the same round, though every action is
simultaneous, and so they cannot be dependent on each other.
Invasion of the Mind
Cost: 5 magic points
Duration: 2d6 minutes
The Follower is able to invade another beings thoughts. It requires a POW Vs POW struggle on the
resistance table.
Every 10% within the required roll indicates deeper invasion of the mind.
Worshipper's Dreams
Cost: 8 magic points
Duration: 1d20 days
The Cenobite can alter people's thoughts. This can vary from placing illusions in people's
perceptions, altering their dreams, destroying their memories and even altering their nature.
Pattern of the Flesh
Flesh Sculpture
Cost: N/A
Duration: Perm
The Follower can begin to sculpt her own flesh into something more satisfying for her. This can
include slight tattoos on the shoulders or removing a scar on the hip, up to replacing the eye with
a video camera, or severing the vocal cords with barbed wire. This only ever has a cosmetic effect
in game terms, so that the voice is no different and the Follower could not see in infra-red with
the camera.
Reformation of the Flesh
Cost: 1 magic point minimum
Duration: N/A
This allows the Cenobite to reform any wounds that she has taken. Each magic point spent heals
1 point of damage.
Transformation of the Flesh
Cost: 5
Duration: 2-8 Days
The Follower can create another image which she can change into, swapping between forms as
long as the Ruach lasts.
Invasion of the Mind is required to imitate another being.
Ignorance of the Flesh
Cost: 10 magic points + 1POW
Duration: N/A
The Follower can warp her configuration so quickly that it can ignore damage eg. when Pinhead
spits out the bullets in Hell on Earth.
Creation of the Flesh
Cost: 30/10
Duration: Perm/Succ. Days
The Follower can slowly warp flesh so that she can create a Qlipoth. The rules are left completely
up to the player and Storyteller involved, although rules are given later for standard Qlipoth. The
Follower can also perform the above Transformation of the Flesh on another being now.

Remote Pattern
Labyrinth Taint
Cost: 10 magic points
Duration: Perm
The Follower can taint a being or object with the presence of Leviathan.
All Lament Configurations are tainted, as are potential 'worshippers'.
Enhance the Sensation
Cost: 3 magic points minimum
Duration: 1-10 hours
The cenobite can allow herself and others to experience the joy of pain better.
This gives the cenobite additional hits points, 2 per magic point spent, which are spent before
normal hit points.
Scarring the Flesh
Cost: 0 + magic points
Duration: N/A
The Cenobite has the ability to damage opponents at range. The skill roll is based upon the POW
x3% with 1d6 damage + 1d6 per 5 magic points spent.
Corrupting the Flesh
Cost: 3 magic points minimum
Duration: Instant/Varies
The Follower has the ability to alter the flesh of an opponent according to Leviathan's designs in
an instant. If given time, the Follower can mould the Flesh as per Flesh Sculpture except on the
opponent. Characteristics may be altered downward 1pt per 3 magic pts spent.
Rending the Flesh
Cost: 5 + magic points
Duration: N/A
This is a higher level equivalent of Scarring the Flesh. It works the same except damage 2d4 +
2d4 per 10 magic points spent.
Pattern of the Realms
Visualising the Realm
Cost: 1+
Duration: 1d100 minutes
The Follower can see remote places or items in the world she is currently occupying. The number
of magic points spentindicates the amount of detail seen.
For familiar places etc a mere 1 magic point may be spent.
For places never seen, but researched 10 magic points are needed.
For places merely heard of, 20 magic points are needed.
Transversing the Realm
Cost: 3+
Duration: Table 1
The Follower has gained the ability to travel across the world. The magic points are determined
by familiarity.
For familiar places etc a mere 3 magic points may be spent.
For places never seen, but researched 15 magic points are needed.
For places merely heard of, 30 magic points are needed.
Controlling the Realm
Cost: 3 magic points
Duration: 2d10 minutes
Now the Follower can control the part of the Realm near her. This includes creating illusions,
moving objects, closing and locking doors etc.
Leaving the Realm
Cost: 10 points
Duration: 1d4 days
This works the same as Transversing the Realm except this opens bridges between earth and hell.
Summon Malkuth
Cost: 25 points
Duration: 3d6 minutes

This is a very powerful effect which co-locates an area 10mx10m around the Cenobite with the
Malkuth.Within this area, all benefits of being within the Malkuth apply, and the inhabitants of the
Malkuth may use this gate to explore and help the Follower though they are dragged back as
soon as the effect ends.
High Pattern
Pillar of Souls
Cost: 10
Duration: Perm
This enables the Magister to capture the destroyed soul of a worshipper inside a prison, usually a
pillar adorned with personal items of the worshipper such as the flesh of his face. It is these,
along with the suffering of the special few in their personal hells, that fuels the Malkuths, and in
turn Leviathan itself.
Creating the Lament
Cost: 20
Duration: Perm
This marks the time when a Genurah gains final control over the Malkuth. This Ruach enables the
Geburah to carve the Lament Configuration of the Malkuth himself, instead of Leviathan
performing the task. It is an extremely difficult task, and only the most trusted of Geburah are
allowed to use this Ruach.
Imprisonment
Cost: 25
Duration: Perm
This creates a miniature Malkuth in which a being is imprisonned. The suffering of the being itself
is what fuels the Malkuth. These have some form of outward physical presence and can only be
escaped in the same way as escaping a Malkuth. They have a Lament Configuration attached to
the outside which sends the being to an appropriate Malkuth in case she escapes.
Summon Malkuth Case
Cost: 10 magic points + 1 POW
Duration: Perm
This summons the cabinets that create new cenobites. The ones that exist in an actual Malkuth
can create any cenobite and may only be used by Geburah to create Cheza. Only Leviathan can
create Geburah. The cases summoned require an area under the effect of Empower Area if they
are summoned outside hell.
Unravelling the Lament
Cost: 40
Duration: Perm
This is the ultimate gift to a Geburah. They not only fight Leviathan's battles, but also enforce its
rules. This Ruach has the capability of destroying or removing the Lament Configuration carved
into a being. If destruction is the attempt, a resisted POW Vs POW is required. If the Geburah is
with 10% of the required percentage, the Configuration is destroyed and the being returns to
what it originally was. If the Configuration is only to be removed, the Geburah requires to be
within 5%, as this is a more accurate attack. If successful the being and his Cenobite form are
separated, resulting in the most pure Cenobites known.
The being is normally killed.
Library of the Labrynth
The Tomes written by the minions of Leviathan are many and varied. Most contain scenes of
extreme violence and almost all promote SadoMasochism.
N.B. The following skills are new :
Cenobite Knowledge - Knowledge of Leviathan and his minions. It affects sanity in the same way
as Cthulhu Mythos knowledge.
Torture - A method of inflicting extreme pain and degradation to a victim to aid in interrogation. It
is ultimately self-defeating as a victim of torture will often confess to any crime with enough
persuasion. This skill only covers the methodology and application of torture, not the extraction of
knowledge. i.e. A person could be a master torturer and have no knowledge of interrogation
(below).

Interrogation - The extraction of information from an unwilling informant. This is often combined
with Torture, above, in order to get a person to confess.
Cenobite written Tomes
"Flesh" Author unknown,1198.
This collection of 66 manuscripts is the Bible of the Cenobites. It details much information about
Leviathan and his minions, in particular the rules of Hell by which the Cenobites must comply.
The manuscripts are written on a papyrus-like material, purple in colour and they are inked with a
strange, mutable yellow ichor. The contents of the book alter quite often (every 1d12 weeks) with
the result that the rules of Hell are constantly changing. This can be baffling for humans who are
unfortunate enough to discover a copy of these scrolls.
The manuscripts are only found within the Malkuth of a ruling Geburah, usually within a display
case of some sort.
None of the manuscripts are present on earth at present.

Written by a Geburah, this is a diary of sorts that details methods of torture and interrogation.
The book is written on the skin of a newborn child and is inked with a mixture of semen and
blood. It is bound in raw flesh that has been transmuted by the author.
Only one copy of this book is known to exist. It is held within the Vatican secret library.

"An Aviary of Angels" by Robert S Humphries,1894.
A collection of poems, often containing little but nonsense, but a few among them describe the
author's experiences of dealings with Cenobites. Some of the poems make references to Hunting
Horrors and how to summon them (by reciting the poem).
One particular composition, The Aviary makes it abundantly clear that the author escaped Hell's
clutches and fears for his life.
The book was published in a limited print one month before the author disappeared. It was
unpopular and sold only a few dozen copies of which perhaps ten copies survive today.

A musical score written by a fanatical worshipper of Leviathan. When played by a complete

It has only been played once, in 1916 when sixty people died or disappeared including the
composer.

Tomes with relevance to Leviathan
These are often Mythos related tomes, which have some mention of Leviathan and his servants.
The Artifacts of Leviathan
LAMENT CONFIGURATIONS
The only standard way into the realm of Hell is by locating activating a Lament Configuration.
These are held by the Berashith who serve the particular Malkuth. Each Lament Configuration can

take on any form, though they usually stay in one particular fashion for some time. They can only
be solved by a desire to open them.
They take the form of a puzzle designed to bring out the attribute less used out of the two
Leviathan desires, Pain and Order.
For those seeking new sensations, in could be a complex mental puzzle such as a puzzle box; for
a crossword buff it could be a simple puzzle with clues designed to make him commit acts of
suffering (eg 1 down: the taste of flesh.) No matter the design, it is only when the desire is strong
enough that the Lament Configuration opens.
It may take a long time to open a Lament Configuration, but once open there is a path from the
being to the Malkuth until the puzzle is unsolved. While this path is open, any Cenobite may open
a gate from the Malkuth to enjoy the being. It is possible that more than one person is in the area
while the gate is open. Leviathan has many complex and conflicting rules about which of these
may be taken as well. Many an investigator has believed they knew how to get around the
Cenobites only to find they were mistaken, and paid the ultimate price, fueling Leviathan.
