1. Executive Summary
1.1 Rationale

The following document proposes the implementation and maintenance of a


revised Basic Armor Crewman Course for ArmA 3.
BACC is a course intended to add to training already received in the Training
Unit, in effort to specialize the materials to train Armor Vehicle Crewmembers
on the roles of vehicle stations, effective use of weapon systems, and able to
operate in the combat theater.

1.2 Basic Concept

This Course has been developed by CPT Baeder, using some


existing materials by SGT Smithee from the Arma 2 version.
This Course will be a prerequisite for any further advanced classes
and is mandatory before being able to become a Tank Commander.

All troopers assigned to Armor Cavalry Crew billet will be required to take
BACC. Any trooper who has completed AIT 1 and LandNav will be able to
take the course.
140 minutes (maximum amount of time)
Course will be scheduled minimum of once monthly, as based on demand,
and upon request of command.

1. Identification of map symbols and significance for armor vehicles
2. Identification terrain features and significance for armor vehicles
3. Route plotting and consideration for armor vehicles
Objective 2: Combat Tracked Vehicle Driving (30 mins)
1. Tracked vehicle safety
2. Driver commands and responses
3. Additional concerns for Tank Drivers
Objective 3: Tank Gunnery (60 mins)
1. Armor vehicle weapons systems
2. Elements of target identification and classification
3. Elements of Fire Command

7th Cavalry Regiment training map with BACC Course; Elements of course:
Motor-pool to spawn armor vehicles
Supply and Repair vehicles for armor vehicle support
Gear box with standard infantry weapons systems, medical gear, and
optics
Engagement positions to allow for enemy target identification and
engagement under various situations
o Infantry only
o Ranged enemy encampment
o Roaming infantry and vehicles at various distances with
various equipment types
