This is the major issue impacting all the network cells, IUB, Board, as we
applied
a renaming activity for almost all the sites,
Another issue that the customer here usually have a renaming activates under
the
BTS & NodeBs names , usually need to add a prefix to trigger the status of
the
sites (Swap,New,accepted,Maintance), which as you know affect the names on
NPO,
and so on the Radio team(ALU, Customer) cannot follow up the KPIs,
We need a WA, script, a soln to solve this issue as the customer is pushing
on us
for that,

To clarify this issue, I would have appreciated to have some reports

cell in WMS and NPO (just used for the display in AD), changing cell names
should
not have any impact, the indicators are stored in NPO database attached to
an
unique cell identified by its cellid.
If the cellid of a cell is changed, the cell is considered in NPO as a

different
cell.
Merging data of different cells can be done in NPO by creating objects
zones.
Considering the low level of information we have, I hope this will help to
process
your request.

Regarding the object zone creation, customer is reporting this issue network
wide.
So we need to create huge number of object zone ie one for each duplicates.

Normally, changing the cell name has no impact in NPO as it's just an
attribute.
So:
Either, they change only the name of the cells and they can do their
report with
no problem (indicators are stored with single cellid in DB)
Either, they created completely new cells with new cellids, names, ...
and in
that case, we really speak in the topology of different elements for which
the
object zone is the only current existing mechanism that we have.
In the AR description,
it is only mentioned the change of name.
To clarify, ou should provide

some QOS reports with cells which have been renamed
where
indicates which is the old and the new cell names with dates
it has been changed

Cellids associated to the different impacted cells (from WMS or
extracted from
snapshots).

We are working with next level support and they have asked for some info
which we
have provided and waiting for their analysis.
Mean time below is the initial work around suggest by TEC.
As the cell name is just an attribute of the cell and not the identifier of

We have a snapshot from Jan 6th then Jan 21st and numerous xml files (not

files).
I checked one of the cells that you selected in the provided QOS reports:

You confirmed the renaming of cell "A_WR_GAYATHI_SOUTH_HOUSING_AREA_A" to
"AR_2433_24331_F1_C". Correct ?
CellId should not be updated. Do you confirm CellId are the same the
beginning ?
You mentioned that from NPO both name of related cell can be seen.
Correct ?
show us please thru a screenshot.

I understand the fact you would like to see, at the end via NPO, only the
cell
called as "AR_2433_24331_F1_C" with the full historical data.
Normally modifying a friendly name on the cell does not affect the display
as the
NPO internally refers to cellID. Base on this info, the merge is naturally
done.
If there is an issue with NPO friendly name management, I must fully
understand
before going to Design team.

I understand the fact you would like to see, at the end via NPO, only the
cell
called as "AR_2433_24331_F1_C" with the full historical data.
Normally modifying a friendly name on the cell does not affect the display
as the
NPO internally refers to cellID. Base on this info, the merge is naturally
done.
If there is an issue with NPO friendly name management, I must fully
understand
before going to Design team.

Update with some technical details.
From the database extract, we see indeed in NPO that we have 2 different
cells in
case of
so called "renaming".
=>
The cell in NPO is identified by the couple (oexid, otype) and the
oexid
appears to be changed after this renaming.
In NPO, the name is stored in an attribute of the cell ofn (object friendly
name).
Changing the friendly name of the cell would not cause any problem for the
NPO
reports but the current case is that the unique identifier of the cell has
been
changed.
As a reminder, we have no tool to merge QOS data from different cells in

NPO.
