intake arrangement, sediment load and flow velocities are suitable for the water

intake system. If the Contractor C's foundation recommendations differ from the
recommendations
provided
in
the
Owner (SEC)-furnished
geotechnical
investigation reports, the Contractor C shall submit his recommendation for
Owner (SEC) acceptance before proceeding with the work.
All information
required to facilitate Owner (SEC) evaluation of the Contractor C's
recommendation shall be furnished by the Contractor C.
It is believed that most oceanographic design information such as tide
data and wave conditions is available from various sources at some cost.
However, it is the Contractor C's responsibility to verify that this information is
available and to determine whether additional design information is required.
The design and construction of breakwater and shore protection shall
conform to the recommendations and guidelines given in BS 6349, Part 7: 1991
Maritime structure-Guide to the design and construction of breakwaters.
Reference may be made to the other internationally recognized design
publications such as the US Army Corp of Engineers, Shore Protection Manual or
its replacement the Costal Engineering Manual.
The Contractor C shall be in compliance with all governmental laws and
environmental regulations concerning design and construction in the marine
environment.

Security

Contractor C shall fence off the site and take all reasonable precautions
to safeguard the health and safety of all persons, whether or not they are his
employees, from all construction and construction related activities.
Contractor Cs
proposals
for
security
shall
be
submitted
to
the
Engineer/Owner (SEC). The exact delineation of Contractor Cs site shall be
established and agreed with the Engineer/Owner (SEC) prior to the
commencement of the Works.
Foundations for security and check-point
installations shall be suitably designed against forced entries by motor vehicles.
Contractor C shall provide the security provisions of such nature to reflect the
National Standard requirement to ensure no disruption to the safe operation of
the power station.
Contractor Cs attention is drawn to the special requirements of fencing
and the HCIS, in complying with Standard SSD1.
With regard to security and safety, Contractor C shall provide the
complete engineering, detailed design and shall procure and install the project
strictly in compliance with the SEC Security and Safety General Requirements,
(SES-S-100) and the Safety and Security Directives (SSD) issued by the High
Commission for Industrial Security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In case of
