Genesis
In last week's portion, we saw that Jacob (the younger of Isaacs twins) bought
the Birthright from his brother Esau in exchange for a bowl of lentil soup, and
then tricked his ageing father, Isaac into thinking he was Esau so he could
receive the blessing of the firstborn. Thus, Jacob became our third Patriarch.
the earth will be blessed. 15 Look, I am with you. I will guard you
wherever you go, and I will bring you back into this land, because I won't
leave you until I have done what I have promised you."
In this dream YHVH revealed Himself to Jacob as the God of Abraham and
Isaac. YHVH reconfirmed the Covenant with Jacob; He made with Abraham and
with Isaac. Then there is a prophetic aspect to the promise YHVH made to
Jacob where He said; I will guard you wherever you go, and I will bring
you back into this land, because I won't leave you until I have done what I have
promised you." This means that YHVH will take Jacob (Israel) into the Land,
then they will leave and YHVH will bring Israel back to the Land. This also
means that YHVH will not leave Israel, His people, until He has done what He
has promised.
YHVH spoke to people in different ways; He spoke to Abraham it seems that
Abraham just heard His Voice, later on YHVH appeared to Abraham and Sarai
in the form of three Messengers. Then He spoke to Isaac and Rebecca it seems
that they herd His Voice and knew that it was YHVH talking to them. Here YHVH
appeared to Jacob in the form of a dream and showed him a vision as well as
speaking to him.
Jacob referred to this place as the Gate of Heaven where he had a very
realistic awesome experience with YHVH. In his sleep Jacob saw a high ladder.
At the top of the ladder he saw a vision of YHVH on His throne of glory. This
was Jacobs first prophetic, vertical experience.
Jacobs Ladder
We read in Scripture that after Jacob left his home, he came to Ha Macome
THE PLACE on Mount Moriah, this word is used three times emphasising its
importance. Why the Place? The Sages believe that where Jacob laid down
his head was the Place where the three Temples would be built. Jacob thus
miraculously hit upon the site of the Holy of Holies and had his first prophetic
experience. He had received the keys to prophecy, but now it was actually
happening. The heavensthe higher channels of his own consciousnesswere
being opened wide. He was receiving his personal vertical transmission directly
from YHVH.
This Jacob experience is parallel to the picture of the Holy Place and the Holy of
Holies. The Holy Place is the first step into the Presence of YHVH, but from afar,
just like the vision of the Ladder with YHVH in the distance on His throne. You
start at the bottom and go up the Ladder where you will have an elevated
experience and become more sensitive to the Spiritual and hearing His Voice
more clearly.
Q What does Jacobs Ladder represent?
Several meanings can be found in the meaning of the Ladder, and we will have
a look at some of them.
1 The Ladder Represents YHVHs Temple: The first meaning of the Ladder
is connected to the Three Temples that would be built as mentioned earlier. The
purpose of these temples are seen through comparing them to the digging of the
Wells found in the previous Parashah in Gen 26:19 These three new wells that
were dug prophetically points to the attributes of these three Temples:

NASHAMA
NEFESH
The Ladder Jacob saw was the symbol of connecting Heaven with Earth or the
Spiritual Realm with the Physical Realm. The Ladders bottom part on the
Earth represents man fallen state that includes death. When you look on the left
you will see all the things pertaining to the Nephesh or flesh that tend to pull us
down towards spiritual death. As you go up the Ladder, you see on the left that
your Spirit man or Nashamah is coming to life, and you start to reach towards
the things and attributes of YHVHs Spirit, becoming Like Him.
The Scale on the Left gives you an indication of where you are generally living
in relation and where you generally standing on this ladder. You may have
short bursts of anger or fear that will pull you down from the place where you
usually live, say, love. This shows us how the enemy wants to pull us down so
that we can ultimately be destroyed through spiritual death and later physical
death. YHVH, on the other hand, wants us to be elevated higher and live in a
higher state becoming Like He is.
Love, Peace Joy puts you on the top end of the scale, and you have control over
two of these namely Love and Joy. Love is a choice, and Joy is a choice and
attitude that you can have every day through being conscious of its importance.
The more you choose it the more it will become a habit, and then you will
become it. Peace will follow as your life gets sorted out with the help of YHVH.
On the lower end of the Ladder, you get Anger, Desire (lust), Fear and Guilt. All
these pulls you down into the Basement of your life where you exist in a
miserable and even depressed state. Just like the Love, Joy and Peace, you
have control over all of these ones as well. Guilt comes after you have sinned
and in order to control Guilt you need to control yourself not to sin, pursuing
Holiness. Fear is a state that binds you and changes the way you think but can
be overcome by Faith and Love which are choices. Every time you have a
thought of Fear you replace it with Truth from YHVHs Word regarding that
situation you fear about, then Fear will disappear. Desire or lust of the flesh
can be controlled by disciplining your flesh, not allowing it to see or be
exposed to the things that cause you to fall. Anger is a choice. Someone does
not make you angry, you choose to get mad. Whenever there is a situation
where you feel the blood pumping up your neck, do not react, count to ten and
choose to calm. As you can see a lot of these has to do with bad habits and a lot
of self-discipline in order to control it. The flesh is like a wild horse that needs to
be trained until it has created the right habits. This is where you have to be
aware of your actions every moment of the day so that you can actively control
it. Once you move away from these negative fleshly habits and start expressing
the positive attributes of YHVH you will move up Jacobs Ladder where your
Nashamah will rule and dominate the Nephesh.
3 The Ladder Represents Yshua: Lastly the Ladder represents Yshua
connecting Heaven and Earth. Yshua was from Heaven and came to Earth
connecting the Father with man becoming a Mediator between them. Why a
Mediator, why cant we just go into the physical presence of the Father? YHVH
is Holy and we are not, His Holiness is like a consuming fire that will saturate
and burn away everything impure. You need to be created into His Likeness
before you can stand before Him and that is what Yshua did; to create the
means for us to be elevated spiritually ds that we can stand before the Father
without being consumed.
Some of the natural branches (Jews or ancient Israel) did not believe and were
broken off. We know that we are saved through faith. We see here that even the
Jews are saved through faith. They were broken off because of unbelief. (not
believe broken off not saved) That means that through their stubbornness to
listen to YHVHs Word and His Prophets, that caused them to be broken off
(taken into exile). Faith is to be faithful in doing what YHVH asks of us. Faith
comes from the root word that means nurturing Father, and we need to
become dependent on Him so that He can give us the spiritual food we need to
live. His food is His Word. His Word is defined as the TaNaK the Torah, the
Prophets and the Psalms, not only the New Testament.

YHVH revealed Himself to man through His Word so that they might see Him.
The only way to see is to hear the Word of YHVH. YHVH is an invisible El
Who hid Himself from the unrighteous but reveals Himself through His Creation
and His Word. YHVHs Commandments is given to man so that they can
interweave it into their lives and be part of His set-apart people through whom
He transfer His Plan through the Birthright that are guarded and taught by His
Priesthood (Firstborn). The Messiah is the Door and the Way and the Life
that leads to the Father and He is the Praise of YHVH Judah being the 4th son
out of Israel, prophetically shows the Messiahs coming. (4 means work of the
Messiah). This work of the Messiah will be done during the fourth millennium.
Second Time Period: The next four sons are from the two slave women;
Bilhah (calamity) and Zilpah (tricking). This points to the next time period
between the First Coming and the Second Coming of the Messiah The two
slave women are from Gentile origin and show that during this time period the
Gentiles will come in.Four sons came forth from these two slave women that
represent the Gentiles consisting of two groups; scattered Israelites and Gentile
Nations.

This mixed multitude will come in through grace (fifth son) in a time where man
is to prepare for the Messiahs Second Coming, the time of Judgement. In this
time period there will be calamity (Bilhah - tribulation) and ticketing (Zilpah
false religion) There will be a wrestling regarding the Word and false
doctrines, but in the end YHVH will reveal His Truth, His real Word as manna
spiritual food in order to separate the goats from the sheep where they will
blessed and happy, entering into His rest when He appears.
Third Time Period: After this time awaiting the Second Coming of Messiah we
see the Time of the End as revealed in the last four sons. Two of these sons
were born of Leah (grieved), and two were born of Rachael (Beloved) It says in
Scripture that there will be tears and joy when Messiah comes the second time.
This is the time where YHVH will come down a third time and make His final
dwelling with us in the form of the New Jerusalem.

and Gentiles), all will be gathered by the work of His sorrow (death for sin).
He will rule over them from the New Jerusalem, from His Fathers right hand.
