Explanation
1. IF signal from TU101 flow through to pin 63, 64 of
IC501. The video detection circuit in IC501 will be
detect the video signal from IF signal and then send it
out by pin 60. The video out from pin 60 will be return to
IC501 again by pin 56 and were can call this signal is
Internal Video
2. External video is the signal from external equipment,
such as VCD, or VCR. Rear A/V (JA01) and front A/V
(JA02) is same line circuit but, JA02 has the internal
automatic switch on/off. When you put the A/V pluck to
JA02 and JA01 in same time. The IC501 will be receive
the signal and flow through to pin 54 from JA02 only.
3. Internal signal and External signal will be joint
together at Video switch circuit in IC501. When the user
select the input signal (by press TV/AV button on the
remote control or submenu on the set) and then the
video switch circuit will be select the signal follow the
user selected. The signal after selected will be send to
video processing circuit and pin52 (video out for JA01)
4. After video processing circuit complete process, the
signal R, G, B will be send out from pin 12, 13, 14 of
IC501 to video amp circuit before sent to CPT.

75%(off),25%(on).
After about 50mSec of switch-on.The frequency is
changed to normal value(15.625KHz) and duty
cycle to 50%.
During switching-off. Also the frequency is switched
to the double value and R.G.B drive is set to Max.
and after 100mSec R.G.B is set to Min. and
50mSec later the H drive is switch-off.
4. The H drive pulse from the LA76931 is amplified by
the horizontal drive circuit,to get sufficient base drive
current for the high voltage switching TR(Q402).

O/P
STAGE

THERMAL PROTECTION

1. The H drive output is open collector and active low,

I.e. the H-out TR should conduct during the low
period of output.
2. Under normal operation condition the duty cycle of
the output pulse is 50%.
3. To ensure a smooth start/stop behavior of the
horizontal deflection and protect the H-out TR, there
are 3 different condition of H-drive output.
During switch-on.The horizontal output starts with

Abnormal Circuit Protection
In that case of electrical circuit is abnormal operating. The
OCP, V-Nect of X-Ray circuit will be operating too. And then
Q16 on, pin 25 of IC501 = 0V, the set become to stand-by

1. IF signal from TU101 flow through to pin 63, 64 of

IC501. The Sound detection circuit in IC501 will be
detect the SIF signal from IF signal and then send it out
by pin 1. The SIF from pin 1 will be return to IC501
again by pin 3. The sound detection circuit (2nd) will be
detect the audio signal from SIF and send it out to
sound switch circuit and for the JA01 by pin 5 of IC501.
2. External audio is the signal from external equipment,
such as VCD, or VCR. Rear A/V (JA01) and front A/V
(JA02) is same line circuit but, JA02 has the internal
automatic switch on/off. When you put the A/V pluck to
JA02 and JA01 in same time. The IC501 will be receive
the signal and flow through to pin 9 from JA02 only.
3. Internal signal and External signal will be joint
together at sound switch circuit in IC501. When the
user select the input signal and then the sound switch
circuit will be select the signal follow the user selected.
The signal after selected will be send to pin 6 for the
audio power amplify circuit before send the to speaker.

Explanation

L OUT

the double frequency(31KHz) and with duty of

75%(off),25%(on).
After about 50mSec of switch-on.The frequency is
changed to normal value(15.625KHz) and duty
cycle to 50%.
During switching-off. Also the frequency is switched
to the double value and R.G.B drive is set to Max.
and after 100mSec R.G.B is set to Min. and
50mSec later the H drive is switch-off.
4. The H drive pulse from the LA76931 is amplified by
the horizontal drive circuit,to get sufficient base drive
current for the high voltage switching TR(Q402).

SIGNAL FLOW (WITH IC751)
Explanation
1. IF signal from TU101 flow through to pin
63, 64 of IC501. The video detection circuit
in IC501 will be detect the video signal from
IF signal and then send it out by pin 60. The
video out from pin 60 will be return to IC501
again by pin 56 and were can call this
signal is Internal Video
2. IC751 is service switch for the video/
audio signal from the external equipment.
All of the external signal will be flow to
IC751 but, only one signal from external
equipment can be out from IC751.
IC751 just receive the command order form
IC501 by mode A and mode B (pin 11, 13
of IC751). When the user select the input
signal (by press TV/AV button on the
remote control or submenu on the set) and
then the video switch circuit will be select
the signal follow the user selected. The
signal after selected will be send to pin 54 of
IC501 (external video input).
3. DVD Y, Pb, Pr just flow to IC501 at pin
48, 49, 51 directly.
4. The next step of video processing its just
like video processing in mono model step 3
and 4
5. The command order from IC501 to IC751
(mode A & mode B) just like table 1 data.

I1 = Starting current (Voltage drop on pin4 of IC801)
I2 = Main current (Source), (Voltage drop on pin4 of IC801)
IFB = Feed back current (Voltage drop on pin6 of IC801)
V1 = Main voltage (B+ on pin 3 of T402)
V2 = Stand-by 5V (on pin 25 of IC501)
V3 = Supply 9V on collector of Q301
V4 = Pump-Up voltage on pin 3 of IC301

1) Turn on the switch power of the set and then Iin1 will be
maximum high (Voltage drop on pin4 of IC801 = 18.4V) for a
moment. In this time V1 115V, V2 5V (5V St-By operate),
V3 0.5V, V4 = 0V, IFB 1.7V and pin29 (power) of IC501 =
0V. And then IC801 will be operating to stand-by mode and
still for about 4.12s (T1). Also the voltage drop on pin4 of
IC801 at T1 = 11.3V

V4

T1

2) After time of T1 finished, pin29 (power) of IC501 active =

5V, Q813 operate, IC lower, IFB lower too. In this time IC801 is
operate mode, T803 has induce from pin14 to pin1, and then
Iin2 flow through D801 to pin4 of IC801. So the voltage drop
on pin4 of IC801 16.1V (T2) until the switch power off
(unplug).

increasing, but in that time V4 continue immediately high (Houtput circuit operating), and then Q301 operate, V3 pass to
ground (0V), Q16 cannot operate. The set to be continuously
operating.
