FIELDER
KENTUCKY BLUEGRASS
Fielder Kentucky Bluegrass (SPTR 2959) (Poa pratensis) with excellent wear tolerance and high turf quality is an ideal choice for all bluegrass blends. The rapid establishment of Fielder makes it an important
component whether you have a new turf stand or are doing repairs.
Fielder should be
included whether you
are planting or repairing a sports field, a
home lawn, a golf
course fairway or
rough. Fielder was
developed from the
cross Shamrock x
America and has the
advantages of both of
these landmark
cultivars. Deep,
extensive rhizomes for
great shear strength
and recovery, with
persistence under
different types of management are hallmarks of Fielder. Fielder has excellent
winter color and greens up early in the spring for a longer growing season. It
also tolerates a low light intensity. The early rhizome formation of Fielder
enables sod growers to harvest sooner.
Fielder has excellent resistance to major turf diseases including Dollar Spot,
Stem Rust and Pink Snow Mold. It also has high resistance to Summer Patch
and Leaf Spot. It has exhibited excellent drought tolerance with rapid recovery. Fielder has a medium dark green color and high density all year round,
with medium texture. Fielder is ideal for inclusion in blends with other
Kentucky bluegrasses and mixtures with perennial
ryegrass, tall fescue and fine fescues.

To determine whether a cultivars performance is different from another, subtract one entrys mean from another entrys mean. If this value is larger than the LSD
value, the observed difference in cultivar performance is significant and did not happen by chance. Complete tables are available upon request.
