Instructions
Step 1: Choose a Fuel type and Unit type.
Step 2: Enter the estimated pre-project amount of
fuel used per annum (that is - the amount of fuel
used by one "relevant unit of output" of the
product/process/service that your project is aiming
to replace).
Step 3: Enter the estimated post project amount
of fuel used per annum (that is - the amount of
fuel that one "relevant unit of output" of your
product/process/service will consume when
completed).
The calculator will then calculate the total GHG
emissions per annum for pre-project (pink
column) and post project (green column).
The blue square will calculate the estimated net
reduction in GHG emissions per annum that your
project will deliver.
The factors used in this calculator are outlined in
Schedule 1 of the National Greenhouse and
Energy Reporting (Measurement) Determination
2008 with the exception that an Australian
average electricity emission factor was used
which is outlined in the National Greenhouse
Accounts Factors (2011).
