Conclusion

Introduction
Indonesia has experienced constructing three
research reactors and performing various PreFeasibility Studies for the preparation of first
nuclear power plant.
One of the benefit for constructing Nuclear
Power Plant in developing countries like
Indonesia include local industrial participation
or involvement that could provide positive
social impact to industry and public.
This presentation provide information
regarding Indonesian experiences in
estimating local industrial participation and
supply chains.

Localization /
National Participation
Manufacturing using foreign engineering in
the local area.
Manufacturing through technology
transferring in the local areas
Manufacturing through technical
collaboration in the local areas

Localization/
National Participation
Manufacturing through joint venture with
co brand in the local areas
Manufacturing using by imported parts or
raw material in the local areas
National labor participation to services and
construction

Criteria for Selecting Local

Industrial Participation
Are their profiles relevant to NPPs
construction?
Are there potential investment capability
to participate in a NPP Project?
Are there relevant experiences of the
national industries in high technology
project?
Are there national industries experiences
in the large conventional power plants?

Assessment of Quality and

local content
Local Industries shall fulfill:
SNI (Indonesia National Standard )
requirement: for safety.
ISO with other certified special
requirements such as SNI, ASME NQA-1,
OHSAS 18000, ISO14000 and NBBI for
civil works.
Portland V for building material

Assessment of Quality and

Local Content
Architecture: ISO 9001:2002, OHSAS
18001:1999, ASME NQA-1 (quality
control)
Manufacturing industries: ISO 9001, ISO
14001 ASMe Stamp (U, U2,S,R,NB, PP)
and BS 5500

Conclusion
Indonesia has already identify industries that
fulfill criteria to participate on civil
construction of new nuclear Power Plant
since they have experiences to build
conventional power plant and
implemented national and international
code and standard.
Depend on the national nuclear energy
policy, the participation of local industries
could increase with the increase of number
of NPP construction.
