Warranty
DEVISER warrants that product will be free from defects
in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1)
year from the date of shipment. This warranty is not
transferable and does not apply to the used or
demonstration products. The obligation of DEVISER
arising from a warranty claim shall be limited to
repairing, or at its option, replacing without charge, any
assembly or component (except batteries and
chargers).
DEVISER shall have no responsibility for any defect or
damage caused by improper use, improper
maintenance or for any product which has been
repaired or altered by anyone other than DEVISER or its
authorized representation.

1 Safety
POWER SUPPLY
The AE200-Series optical power meter operates from
three 1.5V AA batteries or rechargeable Ni-MH
batteries.
Caution
Please install the battery according to the pole
indicator within the AE200-Series optical power
meter.
LASER RADIATION
The AE-Series optical power meter emits laser
radiation: 650nm visual laser.
When the measurement is taking place, users should
avoid the eye exposure to the open-ended fibers or
optical connectors due to the active laser transmitter.
When the measurement is complete, please put the
optical connector cap back on. Measurement
accuracy could be influenced if the optical connector
is explored in the air for long time.

2 Introductions
AE200-Series optical power meter is designed to
provide high performance and save cost.
The wavelengths of AE200-Series optical power meter
could be set to 1310 nm1490 nm1550 nm or user
defined wavelength. The absolute and reference
measurement mode are available.
The instrument has Visual Fault Location (VFL) module,
which emit 650nm visible light and fast locate the fault
easily.
The instrument can store up to 500 results, and process
data on a PC through the TOOLBOX software

Store the measured data
AE200 series optical power meter can store up to
500 results.
a) Press storage button to enter into the storage
interface.
b) Press selection button to select storage
number (job id).
c) Press storage button

a) Hold down storage button to enter into the
recall interface.
b) Press selection button to select job id.
c) Press storage button to browse the data, no
data it shows "NULL".
d) Press the MODE button to find the next

Enter into the recall interface to browse the


data to be deleted.

Press VFL/ON OFF button to enter into the


delete interface.

Press VFL/ON OFF button again to delete


data, press Power on/off button to cancel
the operation.

Reference Measurement

a)

Press REF/dB button to enter into the


Reference Measurement Mode and the unit
in dB, press it again to cancel the operation.

Hold down REF/dB button to save the


current measurement as the reference
value

4 Special Functions
Automatic shutdown
Within 10 minutes without any button operation or
the battery is lower than the rating, the instrument
will automatically shut down. Press the power
button, AutoOff sign disappears, and the automatic
shutdown function is canceled.
Self Adjustment Function
AE200-Series optical power meter offers self
adjustment function for the measurement. The user
could manually adjust the reference values
measured from the optical source to the desired
value when the measurement contains errors.
Operating Steps
a)

Press the REF / dB button to enter into the


calibration mode

b)

Press the wavelength button to switch the


wavelength

c)

Press selection button to adjust the


calibration coefficients, the adjustment
range: +1.0dB -1.0dB, press the mode
button to clear the calibration coefficients.

d)

Press the storage button to save the


calibration coefficients and exit the
calibration mode.

Note: After calibrated, the wavelength appears


calibration mark"*".

5 Powers
AE200-Series optical power meter can be powered by
three AA 1.5V ordinary batteries, alkaline batteries,
rechargeable Ni-MH batteries and Ni-Cd batteries.
When the battery is running low, the battery indicator
will remind the user the battery is insufficient, turn off
the instrument and replaced new battery. If use the
rechargeable batteries, please charge it and continue
to use.
