2. Do you think worldwide mining companies will embed what is proposed in the

We are facing a devastating period for the mining industry, mainly because there is a
falling commodity in metal prices and this is squeezing the cash flow. In order to obtain a
higher utility, it is important to reduce costs and increase the productivity, considering
always safety as an important fact.
What is proposed in this article is that trough data analysis, productivity and safety could
be improved, and also costs could be cut. (It was explained in the answer above).
Therefore, I think mining companies should apply these strategies, seeing technology as
the new phase of the mining industry.

4. Do you think the Peruvian mining industry, based on technical and cultural
viewpoint, is willing to accept the changes that are proposed in the article?
Actually, I personally think that Peruvian mining industry should accept these changes.
However, there is an important issue that we must consider: All these changes demand a
high initial investment, alongside with a huge Capex. On the other hand, there are a lot of
anti-mining campaigns, communities do not give up before the industry and they think that
the company is going to contaminate and take its resources. Furthermore, with the new
technologies, safety is going to be a priority, but, in order to accomplish this, less personal
is going to be hire (leaving their place to automatic machines. This could be a great
problem, because communities will reclaim its rights and will want to participate and be
hired by the company. For all these reasons, I think the Peruvian mining industry is not
willing to accept the changes that are proposed in the article.
