INTRODUCTION
Nature and Importance of the On-the-Job Training (OJT)
On-the-Job

training

is

practice

of

all

theories

and

knowledge learned during the four-year stint in the institution

into actual job environment. However, OJT is not a practice
alone, it comes with learning. Throughout the application of the
theoretical concepts in work, the trainees encounter problems
that must be solved. So, it adds to their learning. In the course
of the training, their skills are enhanced.
In Mindoro State College of Agriculture and Technology
Bongabong Campus (MBC) Business Center and Computer Laboratory,
trainees are exposed in different expertise such as laying out
IDs and tarpaulins, troubleshooting computers and printers, and
recording information in the systems database. Over that span,
trainees face some troubles and constraints. For that reason,
they have to maximize their skills and come up with solutions
that can fix the problems. They also have to overcome their
limitations and move out from their comfort zone to discover some
techniques to unravel those dilemmas.

On-the-job training serves as the dry-run for the actual

work environment. It will make the trainees versatile and job
ready.
Objectives of the On-the-Job Training
Generally, On-the-Job training aimed to expose the trainees
into the actual job environment.
Specifically, it aimed to:
1. apply

the

theories

learned

from

the

in

college.
2. enhance the trainees skills in different IT activities.
3. learn new expertise during the training.
4. boost self-confidence and improve self-discipline.
Outcome
After the training, the trainees gathered viable data to
form a narrative report that served as a tool for research and
study purposes.
Moreover, the trainees applied the theories that they have
learned in their four years of study in BSIT degree and gained
experience in the real world. The trainees added more knowledge
to their arsenal and improved their skills to become a full grown
IT Professional.

Most importantly, after going through training in Business

Center and Computer Laboratory, the trainees gained knowledge and
improvement in:
1. Personal Computer Operation
