If we analyze the issue from collaborative workplace approach then we can find that

the level of collaboration in the company is affected by one factor called


relationship. A well-developed relationship among participants is one of the
influencing elements to maintain cohesion or effective collaboration. Relationship
factor is weak in the organization as Mr. Jones has never talked with his secretaries
.Due to his specific personality ,they are still not been able to know one another
well, discover common interest and are unable to develop common
understanding .This has clearly affected the communication among employees. As a
result of lack of proper communication with Mr. Jones, secretaries have become
judgmental and are generating false assumptions. Hence, inability of jones to
maintain relationship among members and secretaries prejudices has nurtured the
communication malfunction in the organization.
If I were the secretary, I would have worked on to strengthen relationship among
the members. Maybe communicating in informal setting can be appropriate way to
reinforce the communication quickly and effectively. For that I would try to
encourage for social gathering among the members outside or inside organization
in place like in canteens. I would have used various techniques like creating simple
personality profile .Then, share and openly discuss likes and dislikes with regard to
communication, task and personal focus among members.
In addition to above analysis, the various fostering factors like sudden change in
Jones behavior from being isolated to being friendly and changes in his personality,
moods and work timetable .These cues are responsible to ingress nonverbal clues
and draw various assumptions .Maybe the behavior of Jones that he previously show
was necessity for betterment of company .He might have tried to be assertive to
focus on growth and betterment of organization. After keeping company in good
position and realizing about need of socialization, he might have changed himself. In
way the cues would have been differently interpreted.

CASE ANALYSIS
