A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL

TO REPEAL RESOLUTION 2015-03-02,
AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES
WHEREAS, Section 2-51 of the Code of Ordinances for the City of Brookhaven
authorizes the Mayor and Council to create advisory committees;
WHEREAS, included within the authority to create advisory committees is the
authority and power to disband and remove such advisory committees as may have
been created; and
WHEREAS, the City Council, by Resolution Number 2015-03-02, created the City
of Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee; and
WHEREAS, the Council now wants to undertake a review of the role, function and
scope of authority of an Advisory Committee for the Parks and Recreation
Department,
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council for the City
of Brookhaven
1. REPEAL Resolution 2015-03-02 and declare it null and void
2. Declare that the City of Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Advisory
Committee is formally disbanded and any authority previously granted
such body expressly revoked
3. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by
Council.
SO RESOLVED and EFFECTIVE, this ____ day of March, 2016.

We wanted to inform you that the P&R Advisory committee has a majority vote to approve the resolution to dissolve in order to
restructure. We have 5 of 6 voting yes with a deadline of Thursday for replies .Have only not heard from 1 member. We will hope to
get that persons vote by the deadline.
I will call you tomorrow to discuss follow up on next steps.
