Course Learning Outcomes:


1. Explain basic concepts and elements in Arts in Education pertaining to the
teaching an learning process by referring to the latest resources
(C2, P2, A1, PLO1, PLO4, CTPS3,CS1,CS2,CS4)
2. Apply elements of Arts in Education in activities related to exploration ,acquiring
experiences and expression related to sensory of primary school students.

3. Conduct visual art activities, music and movements in English language education
(C6, P5,A4, PLO2, PLO4, CS1,CS2,CS4, TS1)
4. Develop a project that integrates visual art activities, music and group movements
to be adapted in the teaching and learning of English language in the primary
schools.

This coursework is for evaluating the following learning outcomes (1, 2, 3 and 4)
Coursework Objectives :
To enable students to:
1. Develop and produce a teaching and learning kit that integrates visual art
activities,music and group movements to be adapted in the teaching and learning
of English language in the primary schools.
2. Explain and conduct a presentation for the application of the teaching and
learning kits produced by refering to the basic concepts and elements in Arts in
Education (pertaining to the teaching and learning process ).
3. Write an essay on The application of Arts In Education, the elements of visual art
activities, music and movements in Teaching of English as a Second Language.
Coursework (70%)
Continuous assessment is carried out to ensure the students have attained and
achieved the expected level of the prescribed course learning outcomes. The set
coursework [the production of teaching and learning kits, presentation and writing
task] will contribute 70% to the final grade of the course.

TASK 1: Teaching and Learning Kits (30%) DATE DUE: 14.03.2016


Arts in Education is a course offered to all PISMP students for them to apply during
the process of teaching and learning English as a Second Language. The components
in this course namely visual, music and movements can enhance the sensitivity
towards perception, appreciation,aesthetic awareness, creative and imaginative
thinking through activities which are enjoyable and suitable with the needs of primary
school students.
Instructions:
1.1. This project will be carried out in pairs.
1.2. Prepare and produce a teaching and learning kit based on theYear 3 English
Language KSSR document.
1.3. The teaching and learning kit should integrates the visual art activities,music and
movements to be adapted in the teaching and learning of English language in the
primary schools.
1.4. Provide the manual procedures for the teaching and learning kit.
1.5. Provides an example of activities that can be implemented in the following format:

1.6: The product shall be presented.
1.7: Other supporting materials which should be provided in the teaching and learning
kit :
1.7.1: CD track / Video (including the softcopy manual procedures on how to use
the teaching andlearning kit)
1.7.2: The exterior of the CD cover should be printed as same as the writing of
the front-page format.
1.7.3: There should be at least three other items which would be appropriate to
the activities planned.
1.7.4: The kit must be in the size of A3 and sealed.
1.7.5: The kit should be customized by using the mounting board and it should
be divided into several fractions for materials storage
1.8: The manual procedures for the teaching and learning kit can be documented in
any visual form such as diagrams, tables,graphics,photographs,etc.
1.9: Plagiarism is strongly prohibited
Marking Criteria
The assignment will be assessed based on a prepared marking scheme.

TASK 2: Presentation on how to use the teaching and learning kit produced.

Instructions:
2.1: Each group members have to present the manual procedures of the teaching and

learning kit and carry out related classroom activity by using the kit.
2.2: The length of the presentation is 8-10 minutes
2.3 : The presentation for the teaching and learning kit can be documented in any
visual form such as diagrams, tables,graphics,photographs,etc.
2.4: The teaching and learning kit manual writing manual should follow the following
format: Arial Font size 11

The presentation will be assessed against the marking criteria set for this coursework.

TASK 3: Essay Writing


Write an individual essay related to "the application of arts in education, visual art,
music and movement elements in the teaching and learning of English Language:
Instructions:
3.1 : This is an individual work.
3.2 : The length of the written essay is 500 words excluding the visual presentation.
3.3 : Write the number of words at the bottom right of the essay.
3.4 : References are not included in the numbers of words calculation.
3.5 : The essay should show your originality, maturity and academic quality.
