proposed under Non-profit Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Model by MHRD. IIITS is an
academic and research Institute fully funded by Govt. of India, Govt. of Tamilnadu and Industry
partners. Our industry partners are Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Cognizant Technology
Solutions (CTS), Infosys, Ramco Systems, ELCOT, and Navitas (Take Solutions).

IIITS is now housed within the premises of Bharathidasan Institute of Technology (BIT)
Campus, University College of Engineering, Anna University, Tiruchirappalli 620 024,
Tamilnadu. The Government of Tamilnadu has lent a support to the institute by granting 62.97
acres in Sedhurapatti Village, Srirangam Taluk, Tiruchirappalli 620 012 for setting up the
permanent campus.

IIITS is offering three UG courses namely, B.Tech Computer Science and Engineering,
B.Tech Information Technology and B.Tech Electronics and Communication Engineering from
the academic year 2015-2016 with the intake of 60 students in each of the courses. The
admission for UG courses is based only on JEE (Main) 2015 and is through Joint Seat Allocation
Authority (JoSAA 2015).

IIITS is offering three PG courses namely, M.Tech Computer Science and Engineering,
M.Tech Database Systems and M.Tech Software Engineering from the academic year 2013-2014
with the intake of 20 students in each of the courses. The admission for PG courses is based only
on GATE and is through Centralized Counselling for M.Tech Admissions (CCMT 2015). The
classes and industrial training for the above courses are handled by faculty members from IIITS
and experts from TCS, CTS, Infosys, Ramco Systems, ELCOT, Navitas, HP, Polaris, and Orzota
(Big data analytics group).

The PG students of 2013-2015 batch received internship order from research labs like
CEERI CSIR, CECRI CSIR, IGCAR and industries like Navitas (Take Solutions),
Compegence, Sanspareil, Infomak, Zod etc. The students and Faculty members have published

numerous research papers in International Journals, International Conferences and National

Conferences.

In IIITS, all the core theory courses are supplemented with laboratory exercises/mini
projects/case studies. The curriculum is manipulated to make the students industry-ready, and is
customized to suit the conditions prevailing in the industry by providing internal or external
industry participation.

A one week industrial training is mandatory for five credit courses in order to enhance
their interdisciplinary learning, product design and IT enabled service skills. The five credit
course is unique in its design and attempts to blend theory, practice and training in an industry
for a period of one week.

With these kinds of support from reputed industries like industry partners and other
software industries, this unique course would meet its requirements of industrial ready students
coming out of IIITS as envisaged in our collective objective.
