I.INT. HOSPITAL. DAY

James enters the hall. An ambulance rushes at his back. Ambulance door
opens and James looks back. He stares at the patient in the stretcher
being rushed inside the emergency room. He follows his gaze until the
emergency room door is closed.
JAMES: (VO)
8..7..6..5..4..3..2..1. I know how much
time people have left before they die.
James looks at the glass walls, reflecting his image.
JAMES: (VO)
And its crazy that how I do not know how
much time do I have left.
He cannot see his own life timer.
James continues to walk in the hospital hall, passing by patients
walking, nurses and his co-doctors rushing back and forth. He sees
their life timers above their heads. He turns right to the nursery
room and stops to see a mother and a father looking through the glass
of their newborn. He stands beside them.
JAMES:
In everyday that I see death before my
eyes, ticking above their heads in a place
where life breathes..when I look at each of
them..beingcleary unaware of their life
left.. I realize life as it is. Making the
most of every day, every hour, every
minute, down to every second..just because
they dont know whens.. the end.
JAMES:
Oh, What a cute healthy baby.
MOTHER:
Well thank you doctor. Were so happy she
had survived. I had a tough pregnancy.
JAMES:
Well now, shes great. Dont worry anymore.
She sure will live long. (smiles)

The mother is left confused. James continues to walk to his clinic.

Nurses paging in the intercom can be heard. Ambient sounds in a
hospital.
CUT TO
II. INT. DR. CARLISLES CLINIC.DAY
James assistant nurse enters.
NURSE JANE:
Dr. Carlisle, you have a patient. Name is
Samantha Winters. Would you like to attend
to her now? Here are her CT scan results.
JAMES:
Oh okay, thanks Jane. Just leave it there.
Please let her in.
NURSE JANE:
Samantha? Please come in sweetie.
A beautiful girl in a bonnet comes in,
dressed in colorful hints of neon. She has
a takeout coffee tray with her. Shes pale
but puts up a smile on her face. She thanks
the nurse while she enters the room.
SAM:
Hello Dr. Carlisle. I brought you coffee.
Its uhh..caramel macchiato. Its my kind.
I dont know about your coffee taste but I
hope this is will do. (smiles)
James cant take his eyes off Sam. He did not even notice Sams life
timer. He got the coffee Sam was handling him.
JAMES:
Oh..uh, this is so much better than okay..
Sam..Samantha right?Uhhh. Come. Take a
seat. Thank you for the coffee. Im more of
the espresso. But this will do. (smiles
back)
SAM:
Will note that. Ill be your most frequent
patient, Doc.

JAMES:
Frequent huh? Uhmm. You can call me James.
Well, thats good news. I get to have my
free coffee. Id tell nurse Jane to
schedule you on a daily basis. (laughs)
So..what do we have here.. (scans health
record and CT scan result) have..
Sam interrupts James before he finishes what he has to say.
SAM:
Dr. Carlisle. You see, I need you to keep
me alive. I dont want to die.
That was then when James realized he has not been looking Sams life
timer. 50 days, 21 hours, 8 minutes, 56 seconds. The ticking distracts
James from Sams hopeful look at him. It was begging for life.
SAM:
Dr.? James? Why? Whats wrong?
JAMES:
Nothing. I just..uhmm. Ill have to
run for more tests on you Sam.
SAM:
Please do. I
enough..time..
no..Ughhh.Ohh.
for this.

JAMES:
Hush now, you. Ill see what I can do. Just
keep the faith, Sam. Youre a first of my
patients to be this..positive. Optimistic.
Time is indeed.. (looks at Sams life
timer) ticking.
SAM:
I have a leap of faith in you James. I
mean.. Well. They all say youre the best
of the best oncologists in this town. You
have
saved
lives..cancerpatients..like
me.Only if my condition was diagnosed
earlier. I hope my condition isnt at its
worst.

JAMES:
Ill have to get a lot more coffee from
you. Visit me again on Thursday. See you
again Sam.
SAM:
Espresso. (chuckles) (Sam gave him a
thumbs up) Goodbye. Thank you so much..
James. (smiles)
III. INT. HOSPITAL CAFETERIA. DAY
Sam continues to have her check-up regularly having been attracted to
James.
James feels sorry for Sams optimism knowing that her days are already
numbered.
Sam enters the scene and joins James in a table, she brought coffee
with her (with a sticky note that reads- Have a great day! )
SAM:
Hey there. Espresso in the house.
JAMES:
A great day it is. But youre late for
your therapy. (Raises his brow)
Both stand up heading to James clinic. Sam apologizes and asks to
take James out for dinner later that night if James okays her
proposal.James approves the condition that Sam gave also if Sam
promises to be early for her radiation therapysessions.
SAM:
I had to catch up with my brother. Im
taking her daughter to school so I ran
late, how about dinner for an apology?
JAMES:
Youre spoiling me. but dinner sounds good.
How about 8?
SAM:
8 is fine. (smiles)
JAMES:
(Smiles back) But for now..wear this.
(hands hospital gown) and well start
running tests. Were doing radiation
therapy.

Sam gets the hospital gown and enters a radiation room.

CUT TO
IV. EXT. STREET OUTSIDE RESTAURANT.NIGHT
James and Sam walk the street outside the restaurant where they had
dinner.James offers his coat to Sam.Sam starts a conversation why she
really wants to live and survive cancer.
JAMES:
Thanks for the dinner. It was sumptuous.
Really. (laughs)
SAM:
You know what, I could practically eat
there all my life. They have the best
crabs. Right?Hmm. Well. You see, I really
want to do a lot of things before I die.
JAMES:
Sam..uhh. Dont take me on the wrong
light..but..why are you afraid to die?
SAM:
I am not afraid to die James. I am just not
up for it. I could die being smothered to
bits. Or chopped by Jason from Friday the
13th. Its just that.. I am not READY to
die. I guess I havent found the reason to
die for..yet.
JAMES:
Waiting for..the right one?
SAM:
Yes. That someone.
JAMES:
Well, maybe that someone could be just out
here..in front of you. (points at a guy in
front of them)..right back at you (points
again).. or just right here.. by your side.
SAM:
Hmmm. Maybe. (front guy) Possible. (back
guy) Absolutely. (at Dr. James)

Well. I guess thats from the dinner.

Youre very welcome Dr. Carlisle. (flirty
tone) Well, thats just a slice for all the
favors I can give you..I mean. You will
save me from dying. So thats practically
just a nano for what you can do to help me.
JAMES:
Uhmm. Sam..you see. Well. This is what I
was about to tell you. Awhile ago..the team
studied about your condition and its
getting..
SAM:
Its at its worst isnt it?
JAMES:
The cancer has spread in your lungs. Its
acute lymphoblastic leukemia Sam. I cant
save you. (looks at Sams life timer)I
cant stop you from dying. What I can do is
help you. Help you make the most out of
life!
SAM:
So Im really gonna die at some point.
Right? How much time do I have left? Tell
me! (cries)
JAMES:
Sam. Come on. Youre stronger than you
think. I know youre stronger than that.
this is life Sam, at some point.. it has to
end.
SAM:
But..you dont understand! Cant I just do
the things I want to do first before I rot
down with this cancer?!
JAMES:
Tell me what you want to do. Ill help you.
James hugs Sam tightly while shes crying.

JAMES:
Its not too late Sam. Ill help you. Ill
be here. Well make the most out of it.
Sam looked at James in his eyes. She hugs back tightly. James kisses
her forehead.
FADE OUT TO BLACK
V. INT. HOSPITAL CAFETERIA. DAY
Sam goes for regular check-up and brought coffee and lunch for her and
James.James peeps and smiles as he saw Sam approaching. He waves his
hand at her. Sam approaches James table and gave him coffee (with a
sticky note) Im ready.
JAMES:
Well hello. Sunshine. And youre ready for?
SAM:
The make-out.
JAMES:
Uhh.Really? That sounded wrong.
SAM:
Hush your thoughts. (winks at James) I mean
lets start making the most OUT of it.
(winks again)
JAMES:
Ohh. I get it. (chuckles) Youre playing
with me huh? (chuckles)
SAM:
Well..(laughs but suddenly feels weak)
Sam drops lunch bag and falls unconsciously.James abruptly carries Sam
to the emergency room.

VI.INT. HOSPITAL ROOM. DAY

James cant stop from looking at Sams life timer. It reads. 15 days,
20 hours, 10 minutes, 34 seconds. Sam wakes up and sees James
first.James hugs her tight. James explains Sams diagnosis and told
her that he would take care of her.Sam is teary-eyed.

JAMES:
How are you feeling?
SAM:
Dying. But Ill be alright. Right?
JAMES:
You will be. Ill just be here for you Sam.
SAM:
Im such a lucky patient.
Both looked at each other and laughed.
James kisses Sams forehead again.
SAM:
Look. Here. I got this something (takes a
note from her bag at the side table)I was
going to show this a while ago. Its my
list. My bucketlist.
JAMES:
A bucketlist huh? (looks at the list) (List reads:
1. Break the rules.
2. Find love.
3. Make love twice a day.
4. Canoe in the lake
5. Stargaze
6. Eat the biggest hamburger
7. Plant a tree
8. Be famous
9. Get a tattoo
10.
Experience forever.)
Well, this is going to be my to-do list
too. Ill make sure you get to these all.
Especially number 2. (chuckles)
SAM:
Ohhh.Cant wait. (chuckles)

from his pocket. Looks at no. 10.(Experience forever.)
Sam sits next to James.
SAM:
The list. Hmm. Were almost done, arent
we?
JAMES:
Yes. Almost. And how would you want to
experience forever madame?
SAM:
Oh. Im cool with this. Just us.You, here,
right by my side.Watching this beautiful
sunset. I can die right now. Forget
forever.
JAMES:
Oh stop it you. (looks at Sams life timer
-- 2:18:50:08)
Forever in 2 more days.
SAM:
Im sorry, what?
JAMES:
Nothing. Just come here. I promise you. I
will do everything to make up your
bucketlist Sam. I love you. (Cuddles her
and kisses her forehead)

IX. MONTAGE
James enters a church. Talks to a priest.
James gets flowers.
James goes in a bridal store.
CUT TO
X. INT. JEWELRY STORE. DAY
James talks to the sales girl. He chooses from the display of rings.
He picks a diamond ring and had it put in a box.
He goes out of the store. He stops to take the call (from Nurse Jane).
CONTINUOUS Nurse Jane informs him Sam got admitted in the hospital.
JAMES:
Hello?
NURSE JANE:
Dr. Carlisle, Samanthas been admitted.
Shes ill.
JAMES:
All right. Is she unconscious? Just keep
her at ease till she wakes up. Im rushing
there now.
James gets the ring from the box and holds it.
A boulder falls from the top of the building at James just above his
head.
James lies on the sidewalk, bleeding. Eyes open. Ring in his hand.
People surrounds James. Ambulances alarm can be heard approaching.
Sequence 12:
INT.-HOSPITAL EMRGENCY ROOM NIGHT
James is being rushed to the emergency room. (Shots just like from the
start) he is transferred from a stretcher to a hospital bed and taken
in the emergency room. His bed was next to Sams bed.

James head bleeding profusely. He

beside her. He tries to reach for
his hand. Doctors rushing to keep
timer. 14 minutes, 8 seconds. Sam
sees James.

tries to open his eyes. He sees Sam

Sams hand, with the ring still in
him alive. James sees Sams life
wakes up. She looks at her side and

JAMES:
Your forever.. Sam. (Holds Sams hand
giving her the ring)
Sam is very pale but drops a tear from her eyes. She tries to put up a
smile.
James eyes closes.
Both are dying holding hands. Doctors surround them.
DOCTOR 1 (James attending doctor):
Time of death, 08:25 pm.
DOCTOR 2 (Sams attending doctor):
Time of death, 08:25 pm.
JAMES (VO):
I once knew when people would die. But I
had no idea whens my time. I didnt know I
was dying with Sam. I met Sam. I knew her
death. I loved her. Then I knew love. And
I knew I made the most out of life.
