Your final copy should be a working document – I should be able to plan my wedding
from your budget – phone numbers, contact names, prices etc. should all be clearly
stated.
Calculate your Working Budget using the
Following:
Your salary is based on:

Your mark + your spouse’s current mark ÷ 2

Example – your current mark is 80 %

Your partner’s mark is 70%

So…80 + 70 = 150 / 2 ….then, turn it into a salary: $75 000

Your Turn … Fill in Below:

Your mark ___ % + Your partner’s mark ____% = ___________

The Total ____ / 2 = __________

Your yearly salary as a couple = $

ALMOST DONE … THE TAX MAN TAKES HIS SLICE FROM YOUR YEARLY
SALARY

Take your yearly salary as a couple and take 30% off of it, which would be what is taken
for taxes, union dues, universal health care, etc. You can calculate this by:

Your yearly salary as a couple $ __________________ x .7 = $ ________________

Divide the total by 12 (months) to get your monthly NET INCOME = $ _____________

FINALLY, decide what month of the year you will have the wedding to determine your
TOTAL WORKING BUDGET based on your monthly net income.

Monthly NET INCOME $ __________ x months of year (May = 5 months)
