OPENING VERSE:
Revelation 2:26-28;
“26To those who win the victory, who continue to the end to do what I
want, I will give the same authority I received from my Father.”
OPENING PRAYER:
Lord,
Make me an instrument of Thy peace:
Where there is hatred;
Let me sow love.
Where there is injury;
Let me sow pardon.
Where there is discord;
Let me sow union.
Where there is doubt;
Let me sow faith.
Where there is despair;
Let me sow hope.
Where there is darkness;
Let me sow light.
Where there is sadness;
Let me sow joy.
For the sake of your mercy and truth, Amen.
INTRODUCTION:
It was entitled;
Four future things:
Death, than which nothing is more certain;
Judgment, than which nothing is more strict;
Hell, than which nothing is more terrible;
Paradise, than which nothing is more delightful;
STARTING PRAYER:
Holy Ghost;
We invoke Thee;
For moved by Thee;
The scriptures were written;
And moved by Thee;
We understand today. Amen.
INTRODUCTION:
SONG:
Binadamu-------binadamu ni mavumbi;
Mavumbini------mavumbini atarudi;
Mwili wake------mwili wake wanyauka;
Kama ua---------kama ua la bondeni:
Life is difficult;
This is a great truth, one of the greatest truths.
It is a great because;
Once we truly understand and accept the fact that life is
difficult, then;
Life is no longer difficult, because, once accepted;
The fact that life is difficult no longer matters.
It may be asked;
What value is there to a human life?
There is so much pain in this world;
What does it mean to suffer so much if our lives are nothing but the
blink of an eye?
Learn that;
“A blink of an eye in itself is nothing, but the eye that blinks,
that is something.”
A span of life is nothing, but the person who lives the span is something.
Why?
He or she can fill that tiny span with meaning;
So its quality is immeasurable though its quantity may be
insignificant.
FIRST:
You will be able to do many great things; but only if you allow yourself
to be held in someone’s hand.
SECOND:
You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time, but this is
required if you are to become a better pencil.
THIRD:
You have the ability to correct any mistakes you might make.
FOURTH:
I will offer you a companion called a rubber, who will erase any
evidence of a mistake you have corrected.
FIFTH:
The most important part of you will always be what is inside.
SIXTH:
No matter the condition, you must always continue to write.
You must always leave a clear, legible mark no matter how difficult the
situation.
SEVENTH:
You will finally wear out, but your work will be immortalized by your
writings on paper.
FIRST:
You will be able to do many great things, but only if you allow
yourself to be held in God’s hand;
And allow other human beings to access you for the many gifts
that you posses.
To me this is a fact;
And this fact will never cease to exist because some or all people
choose to ignore it.
If anything;
Solomon in Proverbs 1:7 says;
“7To have knowledge you must first have reverence for the Lord.”
And
John in John 3:27 says;
“A man can receive nothing unless it has been given to him from
heaven.”
SECONDLY:
“You will experience a painful sharpening from time to time by
going through various trials, but you will need it to become a stronger
person.”
Problems call forth our courage and wisdom, and when we desire growth;
We challenge the human capacity to solve problems.
Surely,
This is why teachers, lecturers and examiners give a set of problems
to the examined to solve and proceed to use this as a parameter to fix
their levels of competence.
Friends,
In the Biblical context, Solomon concedes to this in Ecclesiastes 7:3
where he observes that;
“Sorrow is better than laughter; it may sadden your face, but it
sharpens your understanding.”
THIRD:
You will be able to correct mistakes you might make and grow
through them.
‘Twas grace, that taught my heart to fear; And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did, that grace appear; The hour I first believed.
The Lord has promised good to me; His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be; As long as life endures.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years; Bright shining as the sun;
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise; Than when we’d first begun.
FOURTH:
God will always offer us a rubber called forgiveness, that will
absolve us, by erasing our failings of yesterday today.
But though God can forgive and forget, He can never forget you, only your
sins.
FIFTH:
The most important part of you will always be what is on the
inside.
And you pay attention to the one wearing the fine clothes and say
to him;
“You sit here in a good place,”
And say to the poor man,
“You stand there” or “Sit here at my foot-stool.”
Listen, my beloved brethren; has God not chosen the poor of this
world to be rich in faith and heirs of the Kingdom which He
promised to those who love Him?”
“26Blind Pharisee! Clean what is inside the cup first, and then the
outside will be clean too!”
Friends,
The God who made the outside also made the inside; it is our
hearts, and not our bodies that is closest to God!
SIXTH:
On every surface you walk, you must leave your mark.
No matter the situation, you must continue to serve God in
everything.
When the historian Charles A. Beard was asked his major lessons in history
he answered:
First:
Whom the gods would destroy, they first make mad with power.
Second:
The mills of God grind slowly, yet they grind exceedingly small.
Third:
The bee fertilizes the flower it robs.
Fourth:
When it is dark enough, you can see the stars.
Jesus bids us in Revelation 2:10;
“Be faithful, even if you have to die, and I will give you the crown
of life.”
Friends;
We must dare, and dare again and go on daring knowing that what
we desire is also somewhere desiring us.
SEVENTH:
Death is your eventuality, yet your deeds, immortalized in the
Books of God, will be the basis for according you rewards.
*As such;
“We must light the candle instead of cursing the darkness.”
Friends,
“It is not how many books or how long a pencil writes that
matters, but the quality of its writings.”
In the end, may your life end in the light of Revelation 14:13;
“Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.
‘Yes’, says the Spirit, ‘That they may rest from their labors and
their works follow them.”
Never ask God to make your handicapped relative whole, to serve Him;
God will say NO,
“His spirit is whole, his body is only temporary!”
Never ask God for all things that you may enjoy in life, to serve Him;
God will say NO,
“God has already given you life, so that you may enjoy all
things!”
Only ask God to make you love others as much as He loves you;
Because;
“Love is the basis of all his giving, even Christ Jesus His son to
die on the cross for the salvation of mankind.”
Friends:
“Nails alone could not have kept Jesus on the cross had love not
held Him there.”
“In that way we won’t stop the work of God, His Spirit will still be
there.” Satan said.
Most people will miss both the pleasures of this world and the treasures
of the Kingdom of Heaven by slighting the salvation of God.
Jesus calls them foolish virgins.
The bonds that tied them to this world were stronger than their
attraction Heavenward.
Right and wrong had been placed before them; many desired right but
made no worthwhile effort to follow it. IT WILL BE TOO LATE.
STORY:--Mr. Michael Wamalwa Kijana.
In the year 2004; Kenyans from all walks of life thronged the Jomo
Kenyatta International airport.
At the airport, there are two subdivisions, a part for luggages and that
for passengers.
When the luggage was opened, many flocked to view the cargo without
value-- and friends, it turned out to be the remains of the then vice-
president Wamalwa Kijana.
Don’t be afraid;
God has brought me all the way to add value to your life by giving
you Jesus.
“That if you feel that the heavens see you as a cargo without value
come upfront.”
Come to Jesus today, He will change you; come and I will pray with you as
we sing this song:
SONG: SWEET HOUR OF PRAYER: {SDA---478}
Sweet hour of prayer; sweet hour of prayer;
That calls me from a world of care;
And bids me at my Father’s Throne;
Make all my wants and wishes known!
In seasons of distress and grief;
My soul has often found relief;
And oft escaped the tempters snare;
By thy return, sweet hour of prayer.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Holy father, I thank you for the harvest;
May you keep your crop from the thief;
And make them as a living sacrifice to Thee: Amen.
