we purposefully reviewed how
we combine our leading-edge
capabilities to design 18 core
value propositions that serve
our clients needs.
We have expanded our global
account management teams and
positioned our leading global
experts to lead proposition
delivery across the world,
ensuring that we bring the very

IMPROVING QUALITY OF LIFE

From climate change and rising sea levels,

to rapid urbanization and pressure on natural
resources, our world is a more complex place.
Arcadis helps you navigate this complexity by
understanding the bigger picture. Whether its
maximizing space in cities, making wasteland
habitable or simply taking what you do further,
we deliver exceptional and sustainable outcomes
safely and consistently.
Connecting your vision to our know-how,
our people work collaboratively to create
value through natural and built assets that
work in harmony with their surroundings from
shopping centers in Shanghai or clean water
in So Paulo, to new rail systems in Doha and
reducing air pollution in Los Angeles.
Our global capabilities and diverse experience
mean we apply collective wisdom to every
challenge big and small. In this way, our
experience protecting the Dutch coast for
generations is being applied to secure New
Yorks flood defenses today. So, whatever your

NATURAL AND BUILT ASSETS

The natural and built environments surround us

every day; they both shape and define the world we
live in. Thinking of the components of the natural
and built world as assets or resources helps us
define and consider how these can be optimized,
maximized or protected to ensure they continue
to deliver value for years to come. Natural assets
include water, natural energy, minerals, air, land, etc.
while built assets define man made resources that
we use to improve our quality of life every day, from
transportation infrastructure to buildings, public
green spaces and so on.

36

ENVIRONMENT

When Reese Air Force Base

closed, it left a huge and complex
challenge behind: decades of
solvent use for cleaning and
repairing airplanes had resulted
in groundwater contamination
1,000 times the allowable
level that spanned an entire
community. The US Air Force
selected Arcadis to remediate
the base on a fixed-price,
performance-based contract.
Applying an industry-leading
approach to large plume
management, including smart
characterization, adaptive site
management and dynamic
groundwater recirculation
techniques, we delivered a
guaranteed solution to address
the environmental legacy at the
former base.

We continuously analyzed data,
fine-tuned our approach, stayed
focused on the outcome, and
collaborated closely with the
Air Force, regulators and the
public to ensure restoration of
this vital water resource for local
residents. In less than a decade,
the original 800 acres
of contaminated groundwater
have been fully restored to
conditions that will serve the

BUSIEST STATIONS?

LONDON
BRIDGE STATION
REDEVELOPMENT
LONDON, UK
Network Rail has wanted to
redevelop London Bridge
station since the 1970s.
Today, theyre fulfilling their
vision in one of the UKs most
complex and ambitious rail
station developments to date.
The project has involved a
complete phased demolition and
reconstruction to create a streetlevel concourse while completely
reconfiguring the track layout
all while ensuring the station
remains fully operational.

for main contractor Costain.
Working together on site as a
united team of up to 190 experts
has ensured a very efficient,
