We will cover two Torah Portions this week to

be in sync back in with the Torah Cycle as a
result of Passover we celebrated last week.
Leading up to Passover we have discussed
Leprosy in the House and what that meant for
the Bride to prepare herself as she will enter
into the House of YHVH, leaving Egypt behind.
Her Leprous state is as a result of Her fallen
nature that came into this world as a result of
Adam and Eves sin. Last week we discussed
the Threshold Covenant and the Marriage
Contract YHVH made with His Bride as symbolised in the Passover Feast and
the Four Cups of Promise She partook in indicating the phases or steps YHVH
promise to take Her through.

The First Cup was about Her leaving slavery, coming out under the authority of
Satan. The Second Cup had to do with the Shield, the Sacrificial System and
the Blood of Messiah, covering Her leprous state so that She can enter the
House. This weeks Parashah will be about the Third Cup, the preparation of
the Bride and the things She will learn and go through to make Her Holy and
acceptable to come before the King. We will look at the process called Holiness
that prepares Her to live in the House of YHVH, what the definition of Holiness
is and what it means to us today.

1
We will start off with the first topic in this Parashah, and that is looking at the
Feast called Yom Kippur or Day of Atonement. This topic aligns with our
Passover season, and we are going to study Yom Kippur from within the
Passover theme to see how they connect and complement each other.

Life
The next connection is made where
Unleavened Bread connects with Yom
Kippur, the Day of Atonement that has to do
with removing sin from your house and taking
away of sin from the nation. It is also
symbolic of Judgement Day where sinners,
who are still saturated with sin at the end, will
be removed with their sin from the Presence
of YHVH.
First Fruits is all about the resurrection of
Messiah and the celebration of the first fruits or harvest that will be raised with
Him into life when we see Him on the Day when the Trumpet sounds,
announcing the arrival of the King that will collect His Bride (1st Resurrection &
Rapture) and carry Her over the Threshold into His Fathers House.
Lastly, there is Shavuot, the Feast that stands on its own but represents the
Main Branch of the Menorah that supports and upholds all the other Branches.
This is the pinnacle of the Work of the Messiah and is all about the giving of His
Torah and the receiving of His Sprit as fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost. We
need both the Word and the Spirit to be prepared and cleaned, changed and
restored as the Bride of Messiah. Without the Word and Spirit of YHVH, this will
not be possible to be transformed into a new Adam (man) ready to be reunited
with YHVH in the new Garden of Eden or New Jerusalem.
Q How is the Passover / Unleavened Bread connected with Yom Kippur?
There are many disputes especially when Christians try to
convince Jews that Jesus died for our sins, connecting Him
to the Sin Offering. The first problem you encounter is that
the sin offering required a female Lamb, Yshua is male.
This cause a major stumbling block for the Jews because
Yshua cannot be the sin offering because of this fact. The
answer to this question lies a bit deeper within the Hebrew
language, and you have to study and to understand all the
Festivals as well as all of the Sacrifices, to understand the Sacrifice of Yshua
and why He died for us. John the Baptist made the following proclamation, and
if you analyse it, you will find the answer.

2
John 1:29 The next day he saw Yshua coming toward him, and said,
Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
When you have an understanding of all the Sacrifices, you will have a problem
with Johns statement because the lamb or sin is offering only atone or cover
sin, it does not take sin away. John calls Yshua the Lamb of YHVH (male) that
is referencing the Passover Lamb, not the sin Offering lamb (female).
The only other (male) sin sacrifice found in Scripture
that takes sin away that deals with intentional sin, is
the sin sacrifice brought on the Day of Atonement or
Yom Kippur. The animals that were used for this
Sacrifice were two identical male goats; one goat
was the sacrifice whose blood was taken into the
Tabernacle or Temple and sprinkled on the Mercy
Seat of the Ark of the Covenant. The other goat was
the Scapegoat that took the sin away.
Yshuas Sacrifice: These two identical goats were seen as one goat, one
sacrifice, representing one Sin offering with two components that was fulfilled by
Yshua when He died on Passover.
The First Goat represented Yshuas Sin Sacrifice Whos Blood was sprinkled
upon the Ark of the Covenant, on the Mercy Seat in the presence of the Father
when He died on Passover. This represents the Shield that covers mans
fallen state or nature. How did this happen? The Ark was hidden under the hill
called Golgotha that was placed there by the Jews when the First Temple was
destroyed by Nebuchadnezzar II after the Siege of Jerusalem of 587 BCE.
Solomon built in sand hydraulics when he constructed the Temple to hide the
Ark of the Covenant whenever there was a siege and taken through tunnels to
the place called Golgotha, where it waited for just over 600 years for the blood
Sacrifice of Messiah Yshua to fall through the rock after the earthquake, onto
the Mercy Seat from the place where He was crucified. This is the Sanctification
work through the Blood of Messiah, setting us apart and made us Holy unto Him
through the Covering of His Blood. [For more detail watch Michael Roods DVDs
on Solomons Temple, as well as the Videos on The Blood of Jesus, Found on the Ark
of the Covenant by Ron Wyatt at http://www.project.nsearch.com/]
The Second Goat was the Azazel or Scapegoat that was taken into the
wilderness after the sins of the nation was transferred by the High Priest, laying
on of hands on its head, and then taken away to be pushed off a cliff,
symbolising the taking away of the sins of the nation. This is the second part
Yshua fulfilled where sin is removed or where He dealt with the
consequences of sin, namely death. This connects to the Second Death found
in Rev 20:14. Yshua was the Scapegoat Who took all the sin of everyone who
ever lived as well as those not born yet, from the beginning to the end of time,
taking upon Himself the death penalty or consequence of all of these sins,
carrying sin and death away from us. This is what Paul meant when he said in
Col 2:14 having cancelled out the certificate of debt consisting of
decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and He has taken it out of
the way, having nailed it to the cross This process is called the Justification
and Redemption work of the Blood of Messiah where He paid the death penalty,
putting us in right standing with YHVH.

3
Marriage Night: Passover and Unleavened Bread Symbolism
describes the Engagement Ceremony that takes Place with Yom Kippur
sealing that Ceremony at the Second Coming with the Blood on the
Mercy Seat inside the Holy of Holies, just like the blood on the sheet of
the first Marriage night sealing the Covenant between Bride and Groom.
This Ceremony will be sealed after the Second Coming of Messiah where we
will be physically carried over the Threshold (Kidron Valley) into the Fathers
House (Feast of Trumpets / Rapture after the Tribulation) and right after that the
Bride will be in place of intimacy as symbolised by Yom Kippur where the Blood
of the Marriage Covenant on the sheet is represented by the Blood on the
Mercy Seat after Yom Kippur.
After that we will celebrate the Feast of Sukkot or Tabernacles where we will
live with YHVH forever in the New Garden of Eden called the New Heaven and
the New Earth in the New Jerusalem. All the Festivals tells the same story and
gives us all the detail from different angles revealing the Work of the Messiah
restoring us back to YHVH into a Marriage Relationship with Him.

Day of Atonement and Sexual Guidelines Connection

This Torah Portion starts with mentioning the death of
Aarons two sons, then it covers the Commandment of the
Day of Atonement or Yom Kippur and after that talks about
sexual immorality.
Q How is it that YHVH talks about the Day of Atonement in
relation with sexual immorality?
YHVH gives Commandments regarding sex and intimacy
because Yom Kippur describes man coming physically into
intimacy with the Almighty and this is similar to a man and a
woman coming into physical intimacy with each other after Marriage. This
confirms our previous discussion on the blood on the sheet that is the sign of
the Covenant between man and his wife and the blood on the Mercy Seat
represents the sign of the Covenant between Messiah and His Bride.
YHVH gave specific Commandments regarding the Day of Atonement, and if
done differently to what He commanded, the person conducting this ceremony
will die, just like Nahab and Abednego. In the same way, YHVH gave specific
Commandments regarding marriage, morality and sexual intimacy, and if done
contrary to what He Commanded, resulted in death.
Spiritual Application: What we learn from this is that YHVH gave Marriage as
a beautiful commitment between man and woman and that the first love
should be preserved and kept pure. If we engage in any of these immoral
sexual sins in this Torah Portion, we will destroy that beautiful relationship.
These Commandments are given to protect us within the Marriage Covenant.
Shield of Blood & Shield of the Word: We discussed at Passover that Yshua
is our Shield Who protects His Bride during Her fallen leprous state until she is
fully restored and ready to be reunited with the Father after His Second Coming.
The Messiah is the Shield from His Bloods point of view, covering our sin and
from the Words point of view, that protects us by giving us safe boundaries to
walk in so that we will not compromise the Restoration work He is doing within
us.

4
Standing back, looking at the Torah Cycle and the Feast Cycle and how they
overlay and complement each other, confirms the Marriage Covenant that took
place on Passover, that connects to the Blood of Intimacy at Yom Kippur of
the First Marriage Night, confirming the complete restoration process with in
the symbolism of a Marriage Covenant.

Definition of Holiness
Lev 20:7 Consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy,
for I am YHVH your Elohim.

YHVH Commands us to be Holy as He is Holy.

Q What is the definition of Holiness and what does

Holiness mean to you?

Kadosh sdq is the Hebrew word that is translated as apartness, holiness,

sacredness, separateness. It is first used in Scripture in Exo 3:5 where Moses
met YHVH in the burning Thorn Bush and YHVH told him to take off his shoes
because it is Holy ground. It comes from the root word kadash sdq that
means to consecrate, sanctify, prepare, dedicate, be hallowed, be holy, be
sanctified, be separate and is first used in Gen 2:3 where YHVH blessed the
Sabbath Day and sanctified it.
Spiritual Application: Holiness is the state you have to be in in order to come
into the presence of YHVH, just like Moses when he encountered YHVH in the
Thorn Bush on Mount Sinai. Bush is the word senah and was burning in the
fire that did not consume it. Fire is represented by the letter Shin s and Shin
also represents the Spirit of YHVH.
YHVH told Moses to take off his shoes and shoes
represent your walk or halechah, the way you conduct
yourself, implying a state of Holiness. YHVH wanted Moses
to change his walk in order to become set apart. Holiness
cannot be achieved without modification and changing to
the precepts of YHVHs Word. This is exactly what Holiness
is; changing your walk or halachah to conform to the
Ways of YHVH as revealed to Moses on Mount Sinai, that
is His Torah or Commandments with the help of His Spirit
(Fire/Light).
Just like YHVH sanctified the Sabbath after His Creation Work so will you be
sanctified after He completed the Creation Work within you so that you can
become like Him, created in His Image and Likeness, not just His Image. This
Creation Work is known as Holiness and describes the process you will go
through in order to become Holy like YHVH.

5
The Three Areas of Holiness
We find the Commandment to be Holy three places in the Book of Leviticus
and these passages will reveal something of that Holiness Process that
we need to go through to become like our Father. These three verses
give us the three areas we have to address to become Holy like
YHVH. These three areas also reveal something about YHVH, what
He stands for, Who He is and How He conducts Himself.
Lev 11:44 For I am YHVH your Elohim. You shall, therefore,
consecrate yourselves, and you shall be holy; for I am holy. Neither
shall you defile yourselves with any creeping thing that creeps on the
earth.
Lev 19:2 Speak to all the congregation of the children of Israel, and
say to them: You shall be holy, for I YHVH your Elohim am holy.
Lev 20:7 Consecrate yourselves therefore, and be holy, for I am YHVH
your Elohim.
Holy Food - The first verse in Lev 11 YHVH Commanded us
to be Holy is about Dietary Laws defining what food is. YHVH
cares what we eat and this is the first step in being set apart
unto Him and was the first area humans failed in, causing
them to lose their initial Holy State. This happened when
Adam and Eve ate what was not Commanded. This act of
Holiness helps you to overcome the flesh.
Holy Acts or Deeds - The second verse in Lev 19 YHVH
Commands us to be Holy and is about communal laws, how
to live differently among people. The Commandments starts
with honouring your parents and keeping the Sabbath and
then covers the rest of the Ten Commandments in a practical
way. This act of Holiness helps you to live in love and unity
with fellow humans. It covers your relationship with YHVH
honouring Him as your Father and submitting under His Holy
Day where He teaches you how to honour and respect
general relationships with other people.
Holy Relationships - The third place in Lev 20 where YHVH
Commanded us to be Holy is found in this weeks Torah
Portion where it stipulates guidelines regarding moral and
sexual purity. This act of Holiness helps us to restore
covenant relationships; the relationship between a man and
his wife as well as restoring an Intimate Relationship with
YHVH.

Holiness, Faith and Grace
1 Pet 1 :13-14 Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be
sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be
brought to you at the revelation of Yshua the Messiah; 14 as
obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former
lusts, as in your ignorance; 15 but as He who called
you is Holy, you also be holy in all your conduct, 16 because it
is written, Be Holy, for I am Holy.
Peter explains Holiness in the context of Faith (hope) and Grace,
which are the two things most people believe, release them from the Law or
Commandments. People are taught that we are not under the Law but under
Grace quoting Rom 6:14. Lets look at this verse and find out what Paul was
on about. To get the true meaning of this quote you should read from verse 12
to get the real understanding of what Paul was trying to explain here.
Rom 6:12-16 Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, that
you should obey it in its lusts. 13 And do not present your members
(bodies) as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves
to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of
righteousness to God. 14 For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you
are not under law but under grace. 15 What then? Shall we sin because
we are not under law but under grace? Certainly not! 16 Do you not know
that to whom you present yourselves, slaves, to obey, you are that ones
slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death or of
obedience leading to righteousness?
The context of verse 14 is; not to allow sin into your life and submit under the
law of the flesh, but rather present your members or flesh as instruments of
Righteousness. In Hebrew, there are many different words that can be
translated as law but there is only one Greek word that is translated as law,
and that is the word nomos.
Q - When Paul uses nomos, which law is he talking about?
Paul uses nomos to explain three different laws found in Romans Chapters 6
through to 9, and you have to read the context to find out which law he is
referring to. The three laws are; the Law of YHVH, that is better known as the
Law of the Spirit or the Torah. The law of the fathers that is better known as
man-made laws or Traditions of the Elders and thirdly, the law of the flesh that
is the law he is talking about here in Romans 6:14.
The flesh dictates to us what we should and should not do based on the desires
of the flesh. Paul strongly speaks against submitting under this law and states
that we are no longer under the law (of the flesh) but under grace, meaning
that YHVHs Grace extended to us through His Spirit helps us not to be subject
to the law of the flesh but be led by the Spirit or the Law of the Spirit in order
not to sin. The Law of the Spirit includes the Torah and His Commandments
that are the safe boundaries His Holy Spirt is leading us within, to help us to
become Holy like Him. (Link found in the fulfilment of the Fest of Shavuot or
Pentecost, Spirit = Commandments, writing His Torah on our hearts.) This is
the same message Peter is talking about, being Holy as YHVH is Holy means
not to submit under the Flesh but under His Commandments to be Holy as
defined by the Torah gave to Moses at Mt Sinai.

7
Under the Head: To be under Grace has to do with being under His
Shield as promised to Abraham. That means to be under the Messiah,
and His rulership, because He is the Head of the Body.
Under the Blood: Secondly, to be under Grace means to be under the
Shield of His Blood, not receiving the death penalty because He nailed it
to the cross.
Under the Word: Thirdly, being under Grace means to be under the Shield
of His Wings referring to the Tzit-tzits in Ps 91, that symbolises His
Commandments, that is Messiah, the Word of YHVH. So if you are under
Grace you are under His Authority, led by Him through His Spirit, you are
under His Blood, protecting you because of your fallen nature, avoiding the
death penalty and submitting under His Word and His Commandments that
protects you and help you to be Holy as He is Holy.

Examples of what Holiness is not

We saw in the three verses in Leviticus YHVH Commanded us to be Holy as He
is Holy. We can never be exactly like Him and Holy like Him.
Q How can He expect us to do something that is impossible?
We are going to look at a few examples in Scripture that will answer this
question so that we can understand what YHVH expects of us regarding
Holiness. We will first look at what Holiness is not.
Holiness is not a Religion. Religion is a man-made
system that captures a form of service and worship
unto YHVH, that is made up of traditions to create
uniformity within Religious Group of people.
Holiness is not a spiritual barometer where you can measure your
spiritual state compared to a fellow Believer. Some believe they are
holier than others and that example is found in Scripture referring to
the Pharisees. If you think like this, you have pride in your life. Never
compare yourself to anyone regarding your faith and relationship with
YHVH. This can only be measured against the Word and the fruits you
bear regarding your words and your works (actions).
Holiness does not mean that you become
untouchable. Yshua was the most Holy Person that
ever walked this Earth, and He engaged with people and even allow them to sit
next to Him and touch Him. Yshua even went to mix with sinners to speak into
their lives, bringing them into the Kingdom.
Holiness does not mean that you need to isolate yourself.
Some belief to isolate themselves from other people in order to
pray and do spiritual things , not to be defiled by the world. You
are worthless if you are not relevant and living your faith out in a
practical way amongst people in this world. YHVH told us to be a
light in this dark World and not to hide the Light under a bucket.
Go out there and shine His light by expressing the Truth of His
Word through your life in Holiness, touching other people.

8
Examples of what Holiness is
Luke 5:1-4 So it was, as the multitude pressed about Him to hear the
word of God, that He stood by the Lake of Gennesaret, 2 and saw two
boats standing by the lake; but the fishermen had gone from them and
were washing their nets. 3 Then He got into one of the boats, which was
Simons, and asked him to put out a little from the land. And He sat down
and taught the multitudes from the boat. 4 When He had stopped
speaking, He said to Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down your
nets for a catch.

We see the first meaning of what Holiness is

through the picture of Yshua and Simon standing
in a boat preaching to the crowds. The boat
represents your set apartness or Holiness, where
you are in this world but not part of this world. You
can reach people but are not in the crowd being
like them. If you look, act, talk like the world, then
you will not stand out to be a light in this dark
world. You can only be relevant and used by
YHVH for His Work if you set yourself a safe
distance away (be Holy) from people in the world, but still be close enough so
that they can see and experience your fruits and be able to speak into their
lives. You need to be separate but relevant to minister to people.
The second example of Holiness is found in
verse 4 where Yshua Simon to go further
away and cast the nets into the deep. This is a
picture Holiness in the form of Evangelism. To
reach people who are in the darkness of the
deep, you need to go where they are and
cast your nets in order to be a light to them.
As seen in this example, you still do it from a
safe distance from within the boat, not
becoming like the people of the deep.
These example shows us the most effective way to reach people; to cast out
nets. This is here you are among people, living a normal life and wait until
someone swim into your net. Then you have the chance to bring that person
from the dark of the deep, into the safety of the boat, into YHVHs Kingdom.
There are two other ways to fish; the first way is where
there are professional fisherman using expensive
fishing gear with nice bait on the line, (something the
people want) and allure people into the Kingdom. This
technique is used by most Seeker sensitive Churches
today, making Church enjoyable and preach
motivational messages that tickle the ear (prosperity
doctrine). The problem with this is that they never
preach about sin and Holiness and people just focus on love and grace.
You must accept YHVH for the right reasons and serve Him with the right
motive, not seeing what you can get out of the deal, but see how you can make
a difference in this world by being a light (be Holy).

9
Others use a harpoon approach where they preach
about death and hell in the form of turn of burn
messages, scaring people into the Kingdom. The
problem with this is that you tend to catch dead fish
with this method and we should be led by the spirit of
fear into the Kingdom. This is also not the right way
and example Yshua showed us in Luke because it
has nothing to do with Holiness, bringing people in the
wrong way. These people normally dont last, or they
become like the people who discipled them, using the same fear tactics.

Holiness and the Marriage Covenant

Kidoshim is the term that is used to describe when a man asks a woman to
marry him. He has to purchase her and as a sign will give her an engagement
ring. When you see the ring on her finger, you know she is being spoken for and
belongs to someone else. This makes her set apart for that person who gave
her a ring and is no longer available to the dating pool.
Eph 1:13-14 In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were
sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our
inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the
praise of His glory.
The language used in Ephesians is referring to this Kidoshim state we are in
until Messiah comes the Second Time. He gave us His Spirit as an
Engagement Ring to seal our relationship until the
second part of the Marriage is fulfilled after the
Feast of Trumpets at His Second Coming. The
Bride is waiting for Her Groom to complete a
house for her so that they can live together.

Until then, She has to prepare Herself and be in a

state of Holiness, awaiting His Coming. This is
what Yshua taught when He mentioned the five
wise and five foolish virgins in Matt 25:1-13. Are you the Wise Virgin, having oil
in your lamp, ready for meeting the Groom?
