Course Description:

Provides comprehensive knowledge in nursing


administration and management in all settings with emphasis
on the development of the administrative capabilities
including leadership for those in top level position in nursing
service and nursing education. It supplies practicing nurse
with practical information about nursing administration and
management and prepares the beginning nurse leader and
manager to successfully handle administrative and
management functions in the modern health care setting.

Learning Outcomes:
By the end of the semester, the students will be able to:
1. Discuss the importance of Patient Classification System
in staffing and scheduling of nurses.
2. Explain aspects of monitoring financial performance
against an operational budget.
3. Understand the overall role of nursing in health care
organizations budget process.
4. Outline factors that can influence the communication
process.
