He decided to study languages with Henry Clerval.

He received new that this brother, William, was dead.

William had been murdered.

The Monster.

That he had made a Monster ,and it had killed his brother.

a) Why did people think the young woman had murdered William?
Because William was wearing a valuable picture round his neck on the day he was killed. The picture was found in the young
girl`s hand.

She was in prison.
c) What was going to happen to her at ten o`clock?
She was going to be hanged.

He thought that William and the young girl had died because he had made the Monster.

Because he was blind. He could not see how ugly the Monster was.

The girl screamed and fell to the ground. When the Monster tried to help her, her brother shot at him.

He wanted to make the child his friend.

b) Why did he kill the child?


Because the child screamed and said that he would tell his father about the Monster. He said that his father`s name was
Frankenstein.
c) Why did he put the picture in the young woman`s hands?
So that people would think she had killed the child. Then she would die too.

A woman who would love him. She must be as ugly and terrible as he was.

Because he was unhappy.

Henry came in and saw the female Monster.

He began to pull the wires from the body. And he began to pull the body apart.

The Monster killed him.

The Monster set fire to the laboratory. Then he carried Frankenstein away.

He said he was a murderer. He said that he was the murderer of William and of Henry Clerval.
2)Frankenstein`s father said that Frankenstein did not kill William or Henry Clerval. Why was it not possible?
Because he was many miles away from the house where Henry Clerval`s body found. And he was in Heidelburg when
William was killed in Switzerland.
3) Why did Frankenstein always carry a gun with him?

Because he was afraid of the Monster. If he saw the Monster, he would shoot him.
4)Where did Frankenstein and Elizabeth stay on wedding night?
At a small inn beside the lake.
5)Why did Frankenstein leave Elizabeth alone in the room?
Because the Monster had said he would return on Victor`s wedding-night. He was sure that the Monster was near. He wanted to
find him and kill him.
6)What was the Monster`s revenge?
He killed Elizabeth, because Victor had killed his bride.

It is a place of ice and snow. It is very cold.

a)Why does the Monster think that Frankenstein is guilty?
Because Frankenstein made him. He made him ugly. Frankenstein ran away from him when the Monster wanted to be his
friend. And he destroyed the friend he made for the Monster.

What is Frankenstein`s reply to these words of the Monster?


`What you say is true. I was the murderer of those I loved.

3. How is the Monster going to end his life?


He is going to make a fire and throw himself on the flames.

He decides to stay where he is, and to die there.
