2. Create a palette on a different layer using the eye dropper tool (Ctrl+I ). If you use more

3. Create a new layerandbegincoloringwithaneutral toneofbeige(#dfbaa8)andcoverall
the skin. This will be the base. You can use the Paint Bucket Tool orabasicBrushwith
sharpedges.


4. Select a darker color from thepaletteandapplysome shadows.Dialdowntheopacityof
thebrush.Fillthelipswithasoftpinkbase.

7. Coveruptheareasoftheeyebrowswiththeskinsbasetone.


8. Select a basic brush. Go to brush presets and select shape dynamics. Set the brush
opacitytoabout6070pxandpaintitstrandbystrand.


9. The brush size has to be 24 px. Use the smudge tool and smooth out the edgesofthe
eyebrows.

12. Remember that eyes are round so the corners will always be darker and the center,

a lighter color. Paint some light on the iris. Irises are made of many tiny lines spread
aroundthepupil.


14. Draw them with a small brush (max 3px) Keep the brush set to shape dynamics. Make
somelinesdarker,lighterorthickertoachievethiseffect.


15. Add a bit of shadow under the lower eyelid and a bit of lightin the interior corner of the
eye.Thiswilladdabitofdepth.


16. Now lets mark the pink flesh ofthe eye. After you paint a line select a whiter color and
add some tiny lines inthe corners and above the pink line. Create anew layer and add
someeyelashes.


17. Use a dark color and thesame presets you did for the eyebrows. Look at the image on
the right to see how the eyelashes should look, use a 5060% opacity for the lower
eyelashes.


18. Lets improve the eyesa bit byadding some detail. Use the dodgeandburntoolstoadd
moredepthtotheirisandthepupil,andsomesoftcolorstoaddmorelight.


19. Add a bit of eyeliner to the upper side of the eye. Youcan also change the color of the
eyesbyusingHue/Saturationonaclippingmask.


20. Next, lets paint the lips. This is very easy sincewearegoing tousethesametechnique
aswedidontheeyes.Lookattheimageontherighttoseethelightedareas.


21. Apply shadows to both edges of the lips. Nowwithalightpink,startaddingsomecurved
lineslikeyoudidfortheiris.Makethecenterofthelipslighterthanthesides.


22. Change the tones and keep adding lines on the lips. Its important that in the brush
presetspanel(F5)theshapedynamicsshouldbecheckedleavingthedefaultsettings.


23. Create a clipping mask (by holding the ALT key) and go to Adjustment Layers > Levels
and inputthe values shownintheimage below.Youhavetochangethebrushsettingsin
thepresetspanelforthetexturingofthelips.


24. Go to brush presets and check:Scattering(bothaxes470%), OtherDynamics(0%)and
Smoothing.Choosealightcolorandrunthe brushoverthehighlightedparts(themiddle).
Thiscreatestheimpressionthatsheiswearinglipgloss.


25. Addsomemorelightneartheupperlip.


26. GotoAdjustmentLayers>Levels.Usethevaluesintheimageontheright.

40. Go to Adjustment Layers > Gradient Fill. Use the settings as shown on the right. This
layer must be abovethe one with the background. It should not bevisibleontheportrait.
