sible for any one person to know all Christians in the world, this recommendation by a respon

of your mission. Mission Services stands ready to help you inform HORIZONS readers about

Dear Sisters & Brothers in Christ:

It was but a short time ago that summer had begun. But as v;e glance
at the calendar, we realize that it is rapidly coning to a close.

It

has brought marywonderful joys, as well as some saddnsss to our hearts.

Of these many blessings we woiild lijie to share a few of them vdth you.
The majority of the summer has been spent in Christian Service

Camps in Indiana, Illinois and Michigan. Four weeks were spent in

camp at Lake James in Angola, Indianas

two weeks at Mahoning Christ-^

ian Service Camp in Rushville, Indiana; one week at MacGcraery Christ

ian Service Camp near Chesterfield, Illinois;

one at Cedar Lake

Christian Service Camp at-Cedar Lake, Indiana. We finished our camp

schedule for the summer at Hichiana Christian Service Camp near Buchan
an, Michigan.

These wore a great challenge to us.

Our greatest thrill

came when v^e saw young people take their stand for Jesus Christ.

Since our last newsletter, some changes have taken place.

National Missionary Convention for September 24 thru 27, and, the fact
we are scheduled to speak on the program, we felt it necessary to

change it. Secondly, we still need ^054.00 of our needed pledged sup
port. V/e now have $146,00 of our needed pledges. Please remember us

in your prayers at all times, as it is for the Lord and His Gospel,

that we go to Germany to bring to these people a peace within, brought

only through the Gospel.

Since the change in the time of departure, an opening for any church
who desires to know of our plans and goals in Germany is loft in the
month of October for three consocutive weeks.

Dear fellow-servants in Christ,

Sept., 1963

"I thank my God always, making mention of thee in my prayers,

hearing of thy lovo, and of the fa^'th vfhich thou hast toward

the Lord Jesus, and toward ail the saints" (Philemon vv. 4, 5)
and especially to*-^ard us.

The Lord has truly blessed u3 through XQB? His people. We feel as

did Paul. Our praj^ers go :?ith you in thanksgiving for you. For if it
were not for ynu, the Lord*s Children, we could not and never would be

able to take the message of Christ, along with His great love, to the
German speaking' people of the globe.

We truly rejoice in the Lord, for our support is slowly, but stead
ily increasing. We nov7 have $211.00 of our needed monthly pledges.
There is a greater demand novj for the $289.00. V7e must have this be

fore the 15th, of Oct. Hd Fausz wrote to us, advising us to raise more
than $500.00 a month. For he says it will be very difficult for us to
live on that low income. In Germany, the food averages 30^ to 40^ high

er than here. Gasoline averages between $.52 and $1,00 a gallon; motor
oil is just about as expensive; house rent (actually a small ap't.) at

least $100,00 a month. So please remember us in your prayers.

Very soon (in 1? days) we'll be sailing to Germany. But before we
go, Ed Fausz suggested that we obtain all of the cotton material poss

ible, because of the high prices in Germany. This will be a big sav

ings, as I do quite a bit of sewing. Also, wa need some dippers or

pans, plus cake pans. A claw iiammer was also suggested by bro. Fausz,
