1. Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to be responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance of
all assets and all personnel in a designated area and ensure high operating reliability and
safety during a designated shift. To continuously explore ways to deliver efficient and
effective maintenance service by following the defined maintenance plans, practices and
ways of working to ensure maintenance objectives are met. To be responsible for
providing engineering and technical expertise to enable the effective and efficient
management of assets.

Qualifications and Education:


The jobholder should have a technical qualification in one of the related applicable
engineering disciplines / systems. 5 years (preferably) of related experience and/or
training or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered in
lieu of a formal qualification.

Experience:
Preferably five years working in the specialist technical area and with experience of
working in a similar function and of working with contractors.
Training:
Developmental training is required in any area for professional development and/or
mandatory purposes.

Knowledge:

Written and verbal proficiency in English language (should be also able to

Ensure that all mechanical and electrical planned maintenance


activities and tasks are performed on time and in full to achieve
99% compliance and that work undertaken is up to the specific
standard by daily, weekly or periodic inspection as required,
ensuring optimum resources allocation according to scheduling in
MAXIMO
Minimise or eliminate non-productive time and ensure the cost
effective operation of maintenance activities by providing support
on the revision of the Preventive Maintenance frequencies and
supporting the planning of projects.
Apply criticality analysis, investigation of failures and major
incidents to ensure lessons are learnt and faults eliminated. Use
continuous improvements and reliability management techniques to
ensure the most effective and up to date approaches to
maintenance, including recommending and conducting, or
supporting the teams to conduct reliability improvements.
Safely operate machines and equipment as required and
guaranteeing that proper safety standards are in place and are
adhered to.
Ensure that operational procedures, documentation and manuals
are developed and reviewed as necessary and support training on

Provide leadership to all maintenance teams in the designated area


and ensure effective teamwork by involving appropriate parties in

The job holder will spend some of his/ her time working in an air conditioned office
environment. However, certain jobs may warrant full or part of the day spent on site
outdoors, in extremes of weather, high noise levels, rotating and vibrating equipment,
depending of the section.
At times the jobholder may have to work and make decisions in a highly pressured
environment. The jobholder will work in rotating shifts and will be available on a call
basis.
