GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR COMPETITIONS

1. The age as calculated on 30th April 2015 will be considered for classifications as follows:
Age above five (5+) to below 9
:
Sub-Junior
Age nine (9+) to below 13

Age thirteen (13+) to below 18

Age eighteen (18+) and above

2. The Entry Fee per head for dance competition will be RO.2.000 (Rial Omani Two only) for
members and RO.5.000 (Rial Omani Five only) for non-members.
3. For group items entry fee will be RO.12.000 (Rial Omani Twelve only) per group for members and
an additional RO.1.000 (Rial Omani one only) for each non-members.
4. For all other events, the entry fee per head per event will be RO.1.000 (Rial Omani One only) for
members and RO.2.000 (Rial Omani Two only) for non-member.
5. Entry fee once accepted will not be refunded, except under circumstances as described in Clause-7
below.
6. Application/Entry forms can be collected from ISC or Malayalam Wing office from 5th April 2015
onwards. Completed entry forms along with entry fees, photo and relevant document in support of
age of the participants should be submitted to ISC (11amto 9pm) or Malayalam Wing office
(6.30pm to 9pm)on or before 25th April 2015 9pm.
7. Last Date for submission of Entry fee for Online Registration will be 25th April 2015 9pm.
8. To enlist an event in the competition, a minimum of five (5) entries are required for individual
and three (3) for group events. If this not fulfilled the said item will be cancelled and entry fee
will be refunded.
9. The number of participants for all Group Items as indicated in the list of competitions. The names
and other relevant details of the participants for these items should be submitted along with the
entry forms.
10. All the participants should report at the competition venue on the stipulated time declared. A
grace period of 15 minutes duration will be allowed. Late comers beyond this time limit will not
be allowed to participate.
10. In the event of any dispute, technical issues, contestants becoming incapacitated at the venue, the
organizers reserve their right to take appropriate decision.
11. If the actual participant reported to perform is only one, that particular event cannot be considered
as a competition but she/he shall be allowed to only perform, if willing.

13. TOP SCORERS:

Top Scorers will be selected from Sub-Junior , Junior and Senior Categories only, irrespective
of member or non-member status. Top Scorer will be the one who obtains maximum points
in overall events. Points are 3, 2 & 1 for first, second and third prizes respectively. Groups-E
& F from the list of competitions and Consolation prizes carry no points.

14. KALARATNAM/KALAPRATHIBHA:
a) The winner will be selected from individual participants, classified under Senior category.
b) The winner should participate in not less than five (5) events.
c) The winner will be the one who scores the maximum points from more than one group (except
Group-E (Cinematic Dances) and Group-F (Group Items) from the list of competitions.
He/She should also secure one first place from Group-A.
d) Consolation prizes carry no points.
e) Cinematic dances & Group items (Groups-E & F) do not carry points.
15.

All events will be governed by the rules and regulations laid down by the ISC Malayalam Wing.
The final decision regarding the results of each event is vested with the JUDGES appointed by the
organizers.

16.

ISC Malayalam Wing shall not be responsible or liable for any accidental injuries to participants
during the course of the competitions.

17.

The Managing Committee of the ISC Malayalam Wing shall be the final authority to make any
change/s, whatsoever, in the final schedules and to take appropriate decisions, as and when
required, which shall be binding on all competitors and participants.

18.

Competitions are open to Keralites only (Father or Mother or both originally hailing from Kerala).

8 Fancy Dress: Cassettes and ready-made costumes are not allowed. No introduction but one or two words to
suit the character can be allowed.
9 Fees paid for events that are not being held can be collected from Malayalam Wing Office.
10 Participants for the dance competitions are requested to bring the Flash Drives/CD with only the song selected
for the competition
10 One mark per minute will be deducted for participants who exceed the time limit.
11 Participants are not allowed to use mobile phone in the competition hall.
INDOOR GAMES (FOR MEMBERS ONLY):
VARIOUS ATTRACTIVE GAMES WILL BE CONDUCTED FOR MEMBERS, the date and venue of which shall be
intimated later.
