Bottom Line: The story of Jesus changes everything.
Memory Verse: Faith is being sure of what we hope for. It is being sure of what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1, NIrV
Life App: Faithbelieving what Jesus did can change me.
Basic Truth: I can trust God no matter what.

Welcome Time
Welcome kids and spend time engaging in conversation and catching up. Get ready to experience
todays story.
Before kids arrive, pray for each regular attendee by name. Pray for those who might visit your group
for the first time. Pray specifically for kids who you know dont yet have a personal relationship with
Jesus. Ask the Holy Spirit to move in their hearts through something they hear or experience today.
Pray that God would give you the words to say and the questions to ask.
What You Need: Paper, pencils
What You Do:
Ask kids to create a poem or a story about an imaginary town where everything is backwards
from what you would expect. For example: dogs meow, cats bark, or people walk on their hands
and eat with their feet.
They can write this poem or story as a group or as individuals.
What You Say:
You came up with some pretty backward towns. It certainly would change my life if I lived in a world
where I walked on my hands or if I slept all day and was awake all night.

Activity #1
4/5/6 Challenge
What You Need: Blank paper, pens, pencils, markers, electronic devices and Internet connection
(optional)
What You Say:
For every great campaign, whether its running for President of the United States or to get on Student
Council at your school, theres always a plan to spread the word and convince people youre the one to
vote for. What if you were suddenly put in charge of the campaign to tell people about God and what
Hes done for the world through His Son, Jesus? What would you do to spread the word and convince
others to put their faith in Him? Would you create an ad for a magazine, a billboard for the side of the
road, some type of announcement made over a loudspeaker or radio, or a video or TV commercial? I
have some paper for you to jot down or sketch your ideas.
(If time allows and you have devices with Internet connections, students could blow you away with what
they know how to create. Give students a time limit and encourage them to pair up or work with just a
few others to create something memorable. Then each kid or small team that wants to share ideas with
the rest can.)

Activity #2
Ask the following discussion questions:
Do you remember when you first heard the story about Jesus? Who told you the story? Do you
remember where you were? Did knowing the story of Jesus change anything for you?
[Make It Personal] (Share about one of the first times you heard the story of Jesus. Share
how the story of Jesus changed you. Maybe you were afraid of death and now you know
Jesus is more powerful than death, or maybe you were concerned about your future and
now you know you will be with God now and forever. Maybe you struggled with how to
treat others; you were quick to get angry or you always had to be right and knowing the
story of Jesus changed how you treat others.)
What are some ways you have seen or heard people share the story of Jesus with others?
4/5/6 Challenge:
What You Say:
When you get home, see if you can make a list of all the things we believe exist, even if we cant see
them. Ask others for help so you can come up with a lot of things. Next week, come back and tell us
how many you discovered. If you have a smart phone or other device, you could create the list in a
notes-type app so its easy to share. Also think about what all these things we cant see with our regular
eyes have to do with faith.

What You Do:

Pray with the kids thanking God for each part of the story of Jesus.
Let any volunteers who want to pray aloud do so.
