Directoryport:(default7998)
ThisportnumberisusedbytheprimaryGateway(theonlyGatewaythatconnectsdirectlytotheDirectory)to
detectthepresenceoftheDirectoryservice.ItsvalueshouldmatchtheDirectoryportconfiguredinthegeneral
settingsoftheGatewaydirectlyconnectedtothisDirectory.

Note:Itisrecommendedtochooseadifferentdirectoryportonlyinthefollowingcase:
Anetworkwheremultipleindependentdirectorysystemsarerunning

StartMulticastAddressandPort
Inmulticast,allsources(audioandvideo)arestreamedusingthesameportbutwithadifferentmulticastIP
addressforeach,becausemulticastswitchesandroutersusethedestinationIPtomaketheirroutingdecisions.
TheDirectoryassignsthesameporttoeachmulticastencoder,butincrementsthemulticastaddressstartingwith
'Startmulticastaddress'.Thefirstencoderwilluse'Startmulticastaddress'andthenextonewilluse'Start
multicastaddress'+1,soonandsoforth.

2Gateway:

IncomingTCPconnectionsettings
TCPcommandport:(default5001)
ThisportisusedbytheGatewaytolistenforincomingclientconnections.
Whenthedefaultport5001isntused,theclientwillneedtospecifytheportnumberaftertheGatewayname
example:gateway_name:4812

TCPvideoport:(default5002)
ThisistheportthatGatewayusestolistenforincomingTCPvideoconnections.IftheGatewayisrunningbehind
afirewall,makesurethatthisportisunlockedforinboundpacketsforTCPpackets.

Useportfrom:(default8000to9000)
SpecifyheretherangeofportsthattheGatewaycanusetosendvideousingUDP.Thefirstportnumberisalso
usedasadiscoveryport,i.e.todetermineifunicastconnectionsaresupportedbetweentheGatewayandthe
remoteclient.IftheGatewayisrunningbehindafirewall,makesurethatthisportisunlockedforoutbound
packetsforUDPpackets.

Note:ItisrecommendedtochoosedifferentTCPandUDPportsforthefollowingcases:
Anetworkwheremultipleindependentdirectorysystemsarerunning
Inthecasewhereyouhave1directorybutmultiplegatewaysonyoursystem

Connectionsettings
This section specifies the parameters used by the Gateway when establishing a connection with a client. While
processingaclientconnection,theGatewaydetectsthevideoconnectiontypes(Multicast,UnicastUDPorUnicast
TCP)supportedbytheclient.

MulticastTestAddress:(default224.4.0.1)
MulticastaddressusedtodetermineifmulticastconnectionsaresupportedbetweentheGatewayandtheclients
(applicationsorservices).
