A Food Web

A food chain can be large. When an animal takes in

many forms of energy, meaning it eats more than
one organism, a food web is formed.

The owl gets its energy from the mouse

and the bird. It is a predator. It is at the
top of the food chain. It consumes. It is a
primary consumer.

Every food chain and food web begins

with producers. This plant provides food
for organisms. The beetle, the grub, the
larvae, and the grasshopper all rely or
need energy from this plant.
