1 INTRODUCTION
This report presents the motion analysis results calculated for the FPSOs P-74 and P76.
The displacements RAOs in six degrees of freedom of the Unit were calculated using
the WAMIT software, for a period range from 4 to 100 seconds and headings from 0 to
360 with 7.5 increment.
Four loading conditions were analyzed: full draft, intermediate draft, minimum draft and
transit draft. The maximum displacements and accelerations in irregular seas were
obtained using the sea states defined in I-ET-3A26.00-1000-941-PPC-001 METOCEAN DATA.
These two units will be major conversions from Oil Tankers, as shown in the table
below:
Unit
Original Tanker Name
P-74
Titan Seema
P-76
Titan Aires
The weight data for the topside used in the FPSO P-74 and P-76 for the analyses
regards the Weight Control Report Rev C and the weight data for Pull in Area regards
the Weight Control Report Rev B.
These FPSOs will operate in a water depth around 2500 meters in the Cesso Onerosa
Area located in Santos Basin, offshore Brazil. Each hull will be refurbished and
converted at INHAUMA SHIPYARD, in the city of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
This Technical Report presents the expected Motions and Accelerations due to two
different scenarios: Design Operational Conditions (DOC) (1-year return period
environment) and Design Extreme Conditions (DEC) (100-year return period
environment). For the Transit condition the 10 years period of return is considered.
The ship heading adopted in each analysis was 197.5 w.r.t. true north.
The results and main characteristics presented for P-74 have been contemplated in
chapter 7 and for P-76 in chapter 8.
The cargo tanks were loaded with 2% of cargo when considered empty and 98% when
considered completely full. Slop Tanks were loaded with 50% in all cases except in
transit loading condition.
The maximum allowable Bending Moment of the P-74 shall be increased in 20% in the
aft part of the unit so that the offloading required in the GTD is attended.
The units of this report, unless otherwise specified, are in accordance with the SI
(Systeme International d'Units).

3 COORDINATE SYSTEMS
Three reference systems are used throughout this report:
3.1 Vessel Definition Coordinate System
This system is used to define each FPSO mass and inertia characteristics and
coordinates of points.

3.3 WAMIT Body fixed Axis

This reference system is placed in the FPSO solid Center of Gravity (CoG) for each
draft. It is the reference system for the mesh definition and the center of motion is
placed in its origin.

Figure 3-5 - 3D View Body Fixed Axis

4 VISCOUS DAMPING
The viscous damping matrices used in the analysis were determined based on the
model tests carried out for previous projects. The model tests and the assessment of
these results have been done considering an enlarged bilge keel and the risers support
structure. The final dimensions of the bilge keel will be confirmed by Petrobras. The roll
viscous damping obtained includes only the friction and separation effects due to the
hull itself, the bilge keel and the risers support structure. Other sources are not
considered, such as mooring line damping, risers damping and wave drift damping.
This approach is selected in order to attain the smallest damping levels occurring during
the FPSO operational cycle. A roll motion damping of 8% of the critical damping for the
wave headings of 90/270 degrees were considered. This value is therefore used in this
report for the roll motions only. The other degrees of freedom can be predicted using
only the potential damping originated from the hull without appendages.

5 MOTION AND ACCELERATION

The motion and acceleration results present the maximum expected displacements and
accelerations in irregular seas for the CoG (Center of Gravity). The values are for single
amplitude.
The displacements and accelerations results for the center of motions are the
maximum values within the results for all wave headings for each loading condition.
For Design Operational Conditions (DOC) the maximum allowable MPM value for the
roll motion is 10 degrees (single amplitude).
For Design Extreme Conditions (DEC) the maximum allowable MPM value for the roll
motion is 15 degrees (single amplitude).
For detailed data about displacements and accelerations at points other than the center
of gravity, refer to the document I-RL-3010.0F-1350-960-PPC-006 - ACCELERATION
DATA.

6 GREEN WATER VERIFICATION

Green water analysis is made with the purpose of verifying the occurrence of water
loads due to waves on structures above the main deck. This verification is made
through the calculation of the statistical maximum relative motions between key points
above the main deck and the dynamic free surface of the ocean. In this report the term
green water is used to designate occurrences of these relative motions greater than
the static air gap for each point. The static air gap is the distance between the point and
the static water level at the considered draft.
The dynamic disturbed free surface elevation is considered including diffraction from
the hull based on linear potential theory results from Wamit. The relative motion is
calculated considering the linear response operators of the free surface and of the
vertical motion. The maximum relative motions are determined using the same criteria
used in the motion-acceleration analysis based on contour curves.
Results are presented for intermediate and maximum drafts.
It should be noted that when the wave reaches the ships side shell it breaks, and,
therefore, when the green water occurs the actual wave heights above these points are
smaller than the results reported, because this effect is not taken into account within
the linear potential theory.
An overview of the results is given taking into account the following areas:

Green water at sides

Green water in the bow area
Green water at the Stern

7.6.4 Conclusions of green water verification

The most critical results shown in the previous section can be summarized as follows:
In the Design Operational Condition, its expected no Green Water Occurrence, even
when the unit is loaded to its maximum loaded condition.
In the Design Extreme Condition the maximum Green Water Occurrence is 7.32m
above the main deck at the bow.
In most cases the Green Water occurrences are due to waves coming from the SW
and ESE direction.
From the results and considerations above the probability of occurrence of the critical
Green Water events shown in the Design Extreme Condition results during the
expected 25 years of service life of the unit is very low. Specific model test may be
done, in the future, to confirm this expectation.

8.6.4 Conclusions of green water verification

The most critical results shown in the previous section can be summarized as follows:
In the Design Operational Condition, its expected no Green Water Occurrence, even
when the unit is loaded to its maximum loaded condition.
In the Design Extreme Condition the maximum Green Water Occurrence is 6.14m above
the main deck at the bow.
