Cave Quest Friends

This past week, so many awesome folks
came out to serve Tuesday through Friday,
from 10:30-1:00pm, feeding and loving
over 60 kids each day at the Candlewood!
There is no way to thank everyone that
served here because there were just too
many! What a great outpouring of love into
our community by our Church family!

VBS is quickly approaching and we need you.

Would you be willing to
*Be a guide/helper during VBS?
*Pick up a few items to donate?
*Donate food items or money toward
VBS lunches?

Check out the cave display in the back of the

church for needed items. We have LOTS of
needs!
There will be training for volunteers and it is never
too late to jump in and help! Just contact Michelle!

Please be in prayer for your children, your

neighbors children, your grandchildren and
those you dont even know that you have an
opportunity to invite them to VBS.

message of Christ. A message of hope that can

take all that perplexes and presses in on us, and
show us the power of resurrection. Paul tells us
that we carry this message everywhere within
us.

Over the last 24 hours many have emailed me

asking:
"How do we deal with what is going on?"
"What do we as Christians do as the world is
appearently falling apart around us?"

"But I can barely manage". I know and I feel that

way too as I watch and read the news. But then
I read something better, the Bible, and I am
"encouraged to endure" because I realize that
my lack of strength is meant to show the world
the all surpassing power of God in the person of
Jesus Christ.
Standing with you in the strength of God and the
power of persevering prayer.

Quite frankly, I am in the same boat with you.

Paddling in uncertain waters, and relying on
God's Word to be my compass of truth and
source of deep compassion in these times.
Romans 15:3 tells me (and us) that Scripture is
for "our encouragement and endurance", and
boy do we need it now.
"But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show
that this all-surpassing power is from God and
not from us. We are hard pressed on every side,
but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down,
but not destroyed. We always carry around in
our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of
Jesus may also be revealed in our mortal
bodies." 2 Corinthians 4:7-10
Friends, we are jars of clay. Let's just admit that.
Easily cracked, chipped, broken and yet able to
carry something very precious into the world. As
we carry this "treasure", the truth is we will be
hard pressed, perplexed, persecuted and struck
down, but the beauty of this passage is that
because we carry this treasure we cannot be
crushed. It is the power at work in us that
strengthens us against the outward troubles of
the world. So what is that treasure? The death
(and life) of Jesus Christ which was the sole
means by which we were raised from death to
life (2 Corinthians 5:17).
In times like these where is hope? It is found in
the oddest of places, jars of clay, that carry the

Friends, Will you consider

joining us on Friday night,
from 6:00-7:00pm, to pray for
our nation?
No music. No message. Just
the people of God and prayer.
