This is a reference for Chris Hatcher. I have known Chris for three years and had him in class. It
was also my pleasure to supervise his progress in student teaching that involved Chris teaching
in an area middle school. Chris developed an excellent reputation in the school as well as among
teacher education faculty at Emory and Henry College for his teaching abilities. Chris will be a
wonderful teacher with an excellent understanding of students and their learning needs. He is
very knowledgeable in good teaching methods and classroom management. Some students are
just naturals for teaching. I consider Chris one of these students.
Chris is very knowledgeable in his History and Social Science subject area as well as methods of
sound instruction. He has a good presence in the classroom. Chriss work is always appropriate,
clear and done on time. I place Chris in the top five percent of students in teaching ability and
subject area knowledge that I have supervised over the last ten years.
Chris gets along well with students, colleagues and parents. He is very sensitive to individual
differences and knows how to work with people from different backgrounds and academic
abilities.
