I. COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course equips prospective teachers with knowledge and understanding of nature, methodologies and strategies in the teaching of
Science, Mathematics and Health. The emphasis is given In the study and application of various teaching models fundamentals to social and
personal development in scientific and mathematics skills and necessary competencies fundamental to information processing, correct
formation, inquiry and problem-solving skills.
Pre-requisites: Educ 1, 2 and 3
II. OBJECTIVES
1. Provide prospective teachers background information and understanding of the philosophy, goals and programs in teaching Science and
Health and Mathematics.
2. Enables future teachers to develop an acceptable of basic Science and Health and Mathematics Ideas Concepts.
3. Develop/ Broaden Prospective teachers insights and skills on the different approaches, methods and strategies and techniques in
teaching Science and Health and Mathematics.
4. Provide future teachers with opportunities to put into practice the different processes in the professional courses.
5. Provide prospective teachers the opportunity to apply the concepts and skills learned / acquired in a more concrete term through
preparation and evaluation of lesson and peer teaching.
6. Manifest love, and pride in the teaching profession.
7. Acquire dedication and exhibit commitment to the school mission and vision.

Time Allotment: 54 Hours (18 weeks)

A rating of at least 75% in all quizzes, test and preliminary, midterm and final examination
Active participation in group discussion and other learning activities.
Assignments, project / written and oral reports.
Attendance of not less than 80% of the number of school hours.
