SPEECH ON 14 AUGUST IN ENGLISH

Who knew that the day.

Of 14th of August,
Will tell the world in a way,
That both East and West,
Would come to know that there stands, A country named Pakistan,
A lovely place, with sacred lands.
And a home for a Musalman,
A Quaids effort, a Poets dream,
And a struggle of a human flood,
A new beginning beyond a stream,
Filled with the Muslim blood.
14th August is a common date like other dates of English calender for nations but for
Pakistani nation, this date is the most remarkable day in the history of Pakistan. Pakistan
came into being on 14th August according to English calender while according to Islamic
calender, it was 27th of Ramadhan when Allah blessed Muslims with the pious homeland.
27th Ramadhan has religious importance as the revelation of Holy Quran on Holy Prophet
{P.B.U.H.} finished this month. The word Pakistan is made by combining two words
pak and stan . Pak means pious and stan means homeland. Therefore, the meaning
of Pakistan is homeland of pious people.
People gave sacrifices of their lives for indpendence because they could not follow Islam
independently and could not perform their religious duties properly in sub continent.
They were punished or disturbed when they perform their religious duties. It offended
Muslims but as they were weak nation, they could not do anything.
Names of people like Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and Sir Syed Ahmad Khan are
always written in golden words in the history of Pakistan. Muhammad Ali Jinnah also
known as Quaid-e-Azam is the real founder of Pakistan. Allama Iqbal, who excited
Muslims to earn their own nationality and name in the world. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, who
brought Muslim nation forward and made schools and colleges for Muslims so that they
may come to know how to fulfill the latest demands of the advance age.
Pakistan came into being after the sacrifices of countless lives. Many mothers lost their
sons, many wives lost their husbands and many children lost their fathers and then
Pakistan came into being. People gave sacrifices of their lives so that next generations
may not face any difficulty and may live a safe life.
Pakistan was got for creating environment just as it was in the period of Hazrat Umer
{ R.A. } when He took rounds of the streets in darkness for becoming sure that no one is
hungry. Pakistan was got for creating such environment where ladies will come outside
by covering their bodies as it is ordered in the Holy Quran. Pakistan was got for creating
such environment where males like Hazrat Hussain { R.A. } may born who will must offer
prayers and read Holy Quran whether their necks may separate from their bodies.
Quaide Azam the Father of Nation said for people of Pakistan in his address in Ziarat
that Making of Pakistan was a difficuft task; I could never have accomplished it alone. It
was the Roohani Faiz of Rasul Allah(sm) that Pakistan came into Being. Now it is the
responsiblity of every Pakistani to make it an example of Khilafat-e-Rashida [Ziarat,
1948].
We must celebrate 14th August as it is our independence day. We should celebrate 14th
August by thanking to Allah by going to Mosques instead of celebrating this day in music

parties this day. We should celebrate this day by brightening our hearts with the light of
the teachings of Islam. It is not an important fact whether we lighten homes or not with
lights. Its time to be practical and show our love towards our dear homeland by doing
something which may bring Pakistan on the road of success without waiting for anyone
who may join us.
Jinnah in His first broadcasting for the nation of pakistan August 15 is the birthday of the
independent and sovereign state of Pakistan. It marks the fulfilment of the destiny of the
Muslim nation which made great sacrifices in the past few years to have its homeland.
Outlining the purpose of the creation of Pakistan, Quaid-i-Azam said in a speech to the
officers of the Defence Service on October 11, 1947, that the establishment of Pakistan
was only a means to an end and not the end in itself. The Idea was that we should have
a state in which we could live and breathe as free men and which we could develop
according to our own lights and culture and where principles of Islamic social justice
could find free play.

14th August, is our INDEPENDENCE DAY and it means a day when we had got freedom
not only from our ruthless rulers but freedom from humiliation. At this day we got our
own identity and our own valves. Pakistan came into being in 1947 as a sovereign state.
14th August is a day when, efforts of our national heroes are appreciated and celebrated
and a day when we get our name and respect. Being Muslims we have our own values,
traditions and religion. We Muslims celebrate this day with complete satisfaction and
pleasure of being in a separate region where we enjoy freedom of living in every way.
Pakistan is a democratic parliamentary federal Islamic republic state. Pakistan has its
four provinces, Punjab, Sindh, Baluchistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The day is a national holiday in Pakistan and is celebrated all over the country with flag
raising ceremonies, tributes to the national heroes and fireworks taking place in the
capital, Islamabad. President and prime minister delivers speeches and in the speech,
the leaders highlight the achievements of the government, goals set for the future and in
the words of the father of the nation, Quaid-i-Azam, bring "Unity, Faith and Discipline" to
its people. Day starts with flag raising ceremonies in the Capital city Islamabad and so in
all major cities in Pakistan. March parade and exchange of guards ceremonies takes

Empire. At WAHGA-BORDER flag raising ceremonies takes place while everybody stands
quiet and motionless in the honor of "NATIONAL ANTHEM" after that, military parade gets
stars.
Names of people like Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Muhammad Iqbal and Sir Syed
Ahmad Khan are always written in golden words in the history of Pakistan. Muhammad
Ali Jinnah also known as Quaid-e-Azam is the real founder of Pakistan. Allama Iqbal, with
his enthusiastic poetry, motivated Muslims to think and earn their own nationality and
name in the world. Sir Syed Ahmad Khan, brought Muslim nation forward and made
schools and colleges for Muslims so that they may come to know how to fulfill the latest
demands of the advance age.
People gave sacrifices of their lives for independence because they could not follow
Islam independently and could not perform their religious duties properly in sub

continent. They were punished or disturbed when they perform their religious duties. It
offended Muslims but as they were weak nation, they could not do anything. Pakistan
came into being after the sacrifices of countless lives. Many of our ancestors lost their
lives only for the freedom of their imminent generations, for the sake of independent
land where all the Muslims can offer their religious duties with their own wish and
freedom.
As citizens of free Pakistan, we must reflect on the values and principles which were in
the minds and hearts of those who fought and sacrificed for our freedom. They portrayed
inspiration from the values nurtured in the country through ages. Now we are living as an
independent nation, which is enjoying all the beauties, charismas of their own homeland.
Being an independent and self-respective nation, its our duty to serve our country with
our best. We should work whole heartedly and with complete devotion for the
development of our beloved homeland, we should not forget the sacrifices of our
ancestors and national leaders whole made this land happen as an unrestricted territory
for us to live. Its the time to work with that passion which was in the bloods of our
national heroes who fought for our freedom; its the time for the strong commitment with
us for the betterment of our holy land. We should not compromise on our integrity and
would not let our freedom and integrity being used by other dominant powers in the
world. At this independent day let we rethink about our plans, our actions and their
outcomes. We all should pray at this day of best for our pious land and promise ourselves
that we would not let any harm on it and will work for its defense till the day of our last
breath.
God bless our sacred land, God bless our Pakistan! Ameen.
Happy Independence Day

14th August the day of Pakistan is a common day for other nations, but this is most
valuable day for Pakistani nation in history of Pakistan. In Urdu language it is called as
Yom-e-Istiqlal. On 14th August 1947 the world saw a new country Islamic Republic
of Pakistan as an independent country. Remember that according to Islamic calendar
Pakistan became on 27th of Ramadan when Allah blessed Muslims with the pious
homeland.

The word Pakistan is combination of two words Pak means pious and stan
means homeland. Both words belong to Persian and Urdu language.

The Pakistan came into existence due to restless efforts of Quaid-e-Azam (the

Being a Pakistani we must celebrate 14th August by thanking to All Mighty Allah for
giving this homeland after immense sacrifices.

Happy Independence Day To Whole Nation!

Honorable chief guest, Respected Audience and my dear fellows!

Assalam-u-Alikum!
I am glad to join you today on the day of independence. Dear audience! I am here to
make you remember the days of Independence, The day of 14 august when Islamic
Republic of Pakistan came into being. I am here to make you remember the story of
freedom of Pakistan.
On 14 August 1947, Pakistan attained freedom from the British and Hindus Rule. Every
year, August 14 is celebrated as the Independence Day in Pakistan. This national festival
is celebrated with great enthusiasm all over the country. The Independence Day of any
country is a moment of pride and glory. On this special occasion, rich tributes are paid to
the freedom fighters, who sacrificed their lives and fought to free their motherland from
the clutches of the oppressors British who ruled the country.
Respected Audience!

The story of freedom is a continuous struggle of 100 years of the Muslims of subcontinent. I remember the days when all the Muslims were united for the great cause of
Pakistan. I remember the days when the Muslims were devoted for the cause of their
freedom. I remember the days when the Muslims were devoted for their slogans.
I remember the days, ladies and gentlemen! the leadership abilities of a great Lawyer of
subcontinent. Yes, you are right, I am talking about Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Lets solute the father of nation for his great efforts for the establishment of Pakistan, It is
because of our great Quaid that we are living in an independence country, we are no
longer the slaves of Hindus and British people, so once again I salute the great Quaid for
his sincere efforts. Ladies and Gentlemen! I remember the days when Allama Iqbal gave
hope to the hopeless people of sub-continent. I remember those glorious days.
Dear Audience!
Those days and 65 years later in the present days, when I make comparison between
these I find a big difference. When I compare the people of those times with today, I am
surprise to see that people now-a-days are divided into different sects. They represent
themselves by their casts and sects. We need to develop a system today so lets built a
better nation because millions of our brothers are helpless, they need our help. Lets
discover the secrets of a satisfied life. In previous times, people who were not so wealthy
but they were happier and content then the people of modern age. The reason behind
that was their simplicity and love for each other. They were not selfish and greedy like
the men of modern age. The wealthy people used to distribute their wealth to the poor
person and Islam is all about that. Being a Muslim and Pakistani, We need to develop the
system of justice and equality in all parts of our society. So if wealth within a community
stops at one place, then that society can never progress. This is the reason that Islam
emphasizes to build a system where there is justice and the life of a common man is
same as the life of a king.
Respected Audience!
As a Pakistani we need to realize that Pakistan was established in the name of Islam. We
need to show unity and brotherhood. We need to act upon Quaid saying (UNITY, FATH &
DISCIPLINE), we need to help others and make sincere efforts to make Pakistan the real
Pakistan as Quaid-e-Azam thought. Lets remove corruption and terrorism from our
country. For this we need to take a step ahead to make Pakistan the homeland of
prosperity. I request the youth of our country to save Pakistan from these social crimes.
Lets take Pakistan to another level of glory. The day is not far when we will make
Pakistan the homeland of sincere people. INSHALLAH we can achieve our aim, if all the
Leaders think as a real Pakistani. We should try to lead the mission of Quaid. In the end
Lets Pray for Pakistan, Lets pray that our country would make progress as other countries
of the world. All this can come into reality when our leaders will make sincere efforts as a
Pakiatani and as a true Muslim.
