----------------------------------------------------------------I. GETTING STARTED
The ECB 2 Interactive application can be run directly from the CD
or, for better performance, from your internal hard disk. The media
files (animations, videos, molecular models and cell images) will
remain on the CD.
TO INSTALL ECB2 INTERACTIVE:
Double click on My Computer icon on the desktop. Double click on
the CD-ROM icon. Locate the SETUP.EXE application located at the
root level of the CD. Double-click on the SETUP icon to launch
the installer. In addition to copying the applicaton to your
hard disk, SETUP will add shortcuts to your Start Menu to
facilitate access to the content on the CD.
***IMPORTANT! ECB2 Interactive requires QuickTime 6 or later. Be
sure to run the QuickTime installer located in the "Installers Windows" directory on the CD.***
RUNNING ECB2 INTERACTIVE FROM YOUR HARD DISK
Open the Start Menu and locate the "ECB2 Interactive" program
group. Select the ECB2 Interactive application icon.
RUNNING ECB2 INTERACTIVE DIRECTLY FROM THE CD
Double click on My Computer icon on the desktop. Double click on
the CD-ROM icon. Locate the "ECB Interactive - Windows"
directory and open it. Double-click on the ECB2 Interactive
application icon.

Minimum Specifications:
WINDOWS
---Microsoft Windows 98, Me, NT, 2000, XP
---A Pentium-based PC or compatible
---64MB of RAM
---A Sound Blaster or compatible sound card and speakers
---DirectX version 3.0 or later recommended
Recommended Specifications:
Windows
---128MB of RAM
---At least a 500Mhz processor
Note: performance may vary according to processor speeds and
available memory.
----------------------------------------------------------------USING THE ANIMATIONS, VIDEOS, MOLECULAR MODELS, CELL IMAGES IN
OTHER PROGRAMS

The user has the option of playing the animations and videos
within the User Interface, or individual animations may be
imported and displayed in other programs, such as a presentation
manager, a Web browser, or a media player, such as QuickTime
Player.
For this purpose the media has been placed in easily accessible
folders on the CD, and labeled by media type.
For instructions on importing movies into PowerPoint, please
consult the documentation for that program.
For an overview of all contents, we recommend your printing out
the "Viewing Guide" located on this CD. It contains the text of
all voice over narrations, as well as credits for the individual
scientists and media developers.

USING THE "CELL BIOLOGY INTERACTIVE" CD-ROM. BY INSTALLING OR
USING THIS CD-ROM YOU AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THE TERMS OF THIS
AGREEMENT.
1. License. Garland Science Publishing, Inc. ("the
Publisher") hereby grants you a nontransferable, nonexclusive
license to use immunoanimations CD-ROM ("the Product"),
subject to the terms and restrictions set forth in this
License Agreement. This agreement is governed by the laws of
the state of New York.
2. Restrictions. This license may not be assigned,
transferred, or sublicensed to any other person without the
express written consent of Garland Science Publishing. You
may not modify or create derivative works based upon the
Product in whole or in part. Sublicensing of the Product is
prohibited.
3. Intended Use. All rights reserved. The contents, or parts
thereof, may be reproduced for course and teaching use by any
of the following means-printing of slides and transparencies
or photocopying for course packages that are not offered for
sale to the general public, or for display on a school
Intranet site that is not accessible to the general World
Wide Web public. Any other use requires prior written
permission from the publisher.

4. Confidentiality. The Product contains copyrighted


material, trade secrets, and other confidential and
proprietary information of the Publisher and others. You may
not decompile, reverse engineer, disassemble, or otherwise
reduce the Product to human- perceivable form. You must take

5. Termination. This license is effective until terminated.
This license will terminate immediately without notice from
Garland Publishing if you fail to comply with any provision
of this License Agreement, and Garland Publishing may seek
injunctive relief to protect their proprietary and
confidentiality rights hereunder.
6. U.S. Government Restricted Rights. If this Product is
acquired by or on behalf of the United States Government,
this provision applies. The computer program licensed under
this Agreement is "commercial computer software" and is
licensed with "restricted rights." The documentation licensed
under this Agreement is licensed with "limited rights."
Utilization of the Product is subject to the restrictions
specified in the "Rights in Technical Data and Computer
Software" clause at DOD FAR Supp. 52.227-7013, or the
equivalent clause for nondefense agencies. Manufacturer is

7. Disclaimer of Warranty. You expressly acknowledge and
agree that use of the Product is at your sole risk. The
Product is provided "AS IS" and without warranty of any kind,

to, the warranties or merchantability and fitness for a
particular purpose.
