TEXTILE DESIGNER
NIFT MUMBAI

I create as an artist, produce as a craftsperson and think as a designer.

Textile design, to me is about occupying the space between, being at once specialist and polymath,
focusing on detail while placing myself in a broader context.

I also believe that , The details are not the details. They make the design.- BY CHARLES EAMES

Mumbai.
A city that has hypnotized every soul that has had a taste of it.
Writers have a lifelong love affair with the city, artists call her
their muse and a common Mumbaikar will tell you that there's
no place like Mumbai.

BATIK AND EMBROIDERY

ESSENCE OF GUJARAT
GUJARAT is a state in Western India, also referred to as the "Jewel of
Western India" as it is rich in its culture and handicrafts. Embroidery in
GUJARAT includes dozens of varied colorful embroidery styles that vary
from each other ,region to region.
Here I have mainly included and clubbed the distinct and depleting art of
Gujarat such as Patola weaving ,Ajarak printing which are in rare use
these days clubbing them with the colorful embroideries and tie and die
(mainly shibori) art ,also mirror work for which Gujarat is known for
,hence truly stating the essence of the region.

My collection was a combination of various ethnic and traditional

fabrics from the heart of Gujarat such as Patola , Ajarak and also had a
touch of the traditional Gujarati mirror work
The color palette had the bright colors for which the city is known for.

PRINT DESIGN
