Large-scale Volcanoes in Japan

This map zoom in Hukusima, Japan which the volcano has been erupted
recently. One of them is Sakurajima is one of the active volcanoes in Japan.
This volcano erupted just in 30 miles away from nuclear station. The blast
release a ball of lava and ash into the air.

There are many volcanoes in the central of Japan such as Asama that is the
most active volcano and one of the longest eruption which has been
recorded in document. Asama located 130 km from Tokyo in central Honshu.

Another active volcano is Akita-Komaga-take volcano located 10 km east of


Tazawa Lake.

Japan is a small country that made up from more than by 6,000 islands.
Unfortunately, this country is form on the volcanic line called Ring of Fired.
The small orange and dark orange triangles in the map indicate the eruption
of volcanoes of certain spot in Japan. There are small and gigantic volcanoes
eruption throughout these past two or three centuries. The small one that
are ongoing eruption, it maybe intermittent or frequently; Mount Aso,
Kumamoto, Kuchinoerabujima, Kagoshima, Mount Asama, Gunma/Nagano,
Mount Hakone, Kanagawa, Ioto (Iwo Jima,Ogasawara Islands), Tokyo, and
Mount Aso, Kumamoto. There are also gigantic one which formed the Mount
Aso caldera and its happened once in 10,000 years. Another one that still
ongoing eruption and also creating new island is Nishinoshima (Ogasawara
Islands), Tokyo.
