JUNE MILAN:
Our 2016 AGM and Election of the Managing Committee will be held at the start
of June Milan. This is the time to come and join the Managing Committee and/ or
Board of Trustees to make your contribution to one of the most successful Hindu
organisation formed in 1974. Let us join hands and make sure it gains further
strength. We need to attract younger members of our community to join us and
contribute and continue this success. Contact the Secretary or the President or any
of the Managing Committee for further information.

The Gayatri Maha Yagna starts with:

Vishvani Deva Mantra -Om Vishvani Deva - Svitar duritani Para Suva
Yad Bhadram -Tanna a Suva

O Supreme Creator, You are the creator of the entire Universe.

Take away all the bad deeds, bad habits and miseries. Give us all

the good qualities, and blissful and auspicious objects.

As you can see from the translation above, this mantra is
essentially about abundance. It is a request to have all the
negativity removed and have all that is positive instilled in us. It
is a fundamental Vedic mantra and is a core component of Hindu
pujas and prayers. Full mantra will be sung.

experience during your break? Are you going for Media Studies or
Stage Management or Human Resources
We need people to help with the Management of the sound system and
the stage presentations at the Milans. It is easy to learn how to do this
and you can pick up most things very quickly.
This is an urgent requirement for people with energy and the drive to
do this. We need more than one person to join in so that the load can be
shared across a few instead of only one.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------CONGRATULATIONS Lalit Nagpaul

Over the years the London Borough of Barnet recognises and awards its
citizens for their services to the community. After selecting 37 nominees
for the award, most are given a certificate and only 6 are awarded the
Vellum award. It is a matter of great pride for our society that some years
ago Krishan Saggar and more recently Prem Modgil were awarded the
Vellum awards.
Members will be delighted to know that this year on 12.4.2016 Our
Life Member and Trustee Lalit Nagpaul was awarded the Barnet Civic
Vellum Award In recognition of his outstanding dedication and
commitment to the Barnet Community

Get Well
Sheila Mehra and Kanta Nagpaul have been unwell. We wish them a
speedy recovery

w/o Sh.Karam S Bhogra passed away on 13.4.2016
