The bits are interleaved and mapped onto the 16 QAM symbols of one OFDM symbol. Gray labeling is used, such that a
bit-interleaved coded modulation is realized. The examplary parameters allow to transport one ATM cell with 424 bit plus protocol overhead in one OFDM symbol. An OFDM-symbolwise
blocked convolutional-coded system results in this example but
our proposal does not require this blocking.
