TO JAPAN'S

DARKNESS

WILKINSONS' MOVE TO CITY OF YOKOSUKA

SPRING, 1977

OcAR Friends,
ReCENTUVt WE HAD A VERY MOVING EXPERIENCE, BOTH SPIRITUALLY AND OEOQRAPHtCALLY*
SNOV, WE NAD BEEN LIVING IN ToKYO

FOR THE PAST

YEAR AND A HALF.

We WERE

AS YOU

TAKING CARE OF

THE PaTTON'S MISSION WORK DURING THEIR HOME LEAVE AND ALSO WERE LIVING IN THEIR HOME,
Then after they returned to Japan last September, we moved into the second floor of the
NEXT door SAKURAYAMA ChURCH OF ChRIST BUILDING, UNTIL WE COULD RELOCATE. HOWEVER, BEING
UNABLE TO FIND SUITABLE HOUSING, WE WERE FORCED TO STAY FOR OVER FIVE MONTHS.
TIME, WE ASSISTED THE SAKURAYAMA CHURCH AND DaLE CONTINUED TO ASSIST

ANDREW

DURING THAT
PATTON

Yachiyodai City. Meanwhile wc saved as much money as possible and asked you to pray

AT

with

us concerning our need for more ADEqUATE HOUSING. FOR A WHILE WE WERE qUITE

DIRttOSRAtEO
AND WENT THROUGH A TOUGH TIME OF TESTING. BUT THE MANY CARDS, LETTERS, AND GIFTS SENT
US AT Christmas encouraged and strengthened us in many ways. Our situation has somplktkly

TURNED AROUND. WE KNOW THAT THIS IS A RESULT OF YOUR PRAYING FOR US. FOR SEVERAL MONTHS,
WE FELT WE

OIDN'T HAVE

A THING

TO WRITE HOME

ABOUT.

BUT NOW, SO MUCH

IS HAPPENING SO

RAPIDLY, WE FEEL LIKE WRITING A BOOK.

WHO PRAYED

Did you THINK OF US THIS MORNING

As you breathed a word of prayer?

Did you ask for strength to help us

All our heavy burdens bear?

Someone prayed, and strength was given

For the long weary road.
Someone prayed and faith grew stronger
As WE BENT beneath OUR LOAD.

Someone prayedthe way grew brighter.

And we walked all unafraid.
Tn our heart a song of gladness-

Tell ME, WAS IT you who PRAYED?
