Tiffin University MBA: Individual Career Development Plan For Mentoring Partnerships
Medium range goals (1-3 years): Currently I work as an executive assistant doing HR for a marketing firm. These
goals will reflect my future with this company.
--Build up my credibility and make a name/reputation for myself
--Work with 5 office expansions by the end of 2016 and at least 12 total offices by the end of 2018 (I currently
work with 2)
--Move into a management position where I have assistants under me
--Enhance my LinkedIn and other social media activity: I barely use it and it is an essential part of marketing and
personal branding
--Continue utilizing my management degree and maintaining my knowledge of the sports industry
Steps to take to get there:
--Continue to stay ahead of the task-work, show my current manager that I deserve and can handle more
responsibilities
--Continue my communication skills: communicate with my manager about what steps I need to take to
continue my growth
--Become comfortable sharing my life with social media
--Continue reading sports blogs and articles
Mentors suggestions/guidance:
--Continue to work hard and learn new aspects of the job
--Dont be afraid to ask questions when you dont know the answers
--Be willing to accept constructive criticism
Long range goals (3-10 years): I do not plan to stay with my current position forever. I hope that with enough
credibility and experience I can transition into a role within sports.
--Move to another city
--Obtain a full-time position within the sports industry
--Work with people who will challenge me and teach me new skills
What options does mentee have to consider in order to reach those goals?
--I need to think about how much experience is enough based on the positions that I will be applying for
--I need to understand what type of environment I work best inreally hone in on my core skill set and my
weaknesses
