PL-10 Security and Emergency Response Policy


It is PDOs policy that:

Assets shall be secured and protected against misuse, fraud and other illegal activities.
PDO shall endeavour to be optimally prepared for any credible category of emergency so as to
minimize possible losses.
PDO will manage emergencies in all its activities and co-operate with external emergency
services.
Response to any emergency shall focus on the following priorities and assist in the return to
normal operations in the shortest possible time.
1.
Saving life and avoiding injury to PEOPLE
2.
Protecting the ENVIRONMENT
3.
Limiting damage to ASSETS
4.
Preserving PDOs REPUTATION

The impact of this policy is that:

Assessments of emergency scenarios will be undertaken and corresponding response measures


will be in place.
Security assessments and corresponding protective measures will be in place for all of PDOs
assets and activities.
PDO will provide appropriate organisation, facilities, procedures and competent personnel to
enable immediate action to be taken to manage emergencies in its operations.
Emergency response plans and procedures will satisfy the requirements of the laws of the
Sultanate of Oman.
Systematic testing of the emergency response system shall be conducted regularly to verify its
effectiveness, and any identified improvements implemented promptly.
Mutual emergency aid arrangements shall be maintained with Government and external
organisations.
All incidents, including security breaches and irregularities shall be reported, investigated and
recorded and follow-up action implemented.
All personnel entering or leaving PDO premises, whether on foot or by vehicle must clearly
display their security pass / PDO identity card.
Contractors shall be required to manage emergency response in line with this policy.

The purpose of this policy is to:

Ensure that the optimum level of effort, resources and security are applied to protect PDOs
assets from emergency situations and threats whilst still allowing necessary access for
authorized personnel.
Minimise loss through the implementation of an effective risk management and recovery process.
Effectively manage business resumption following unplanned disruption of activities.
Provide assurance to stakeholders of PDOs commitment to manage emergencies in its
operations.
