NI Analog Communication Lab

NI Analog Communication Lab

The NI Analog Communication Lab bridges the gap between engineering theory and
practice through visualisation, experimental applications and the use of a block diagram
approach to communication system components. It assists students to obtain better
understanding of the operation of analog modulation schemes.

The NI Analog Communication Lab provides experience in analyzing and testing of analog
communication systems software, as well as the components of communication channels.

The following Transmitter and Receiver channel measurements can be performed using this
Lab:

• Amplitude Modulation: Double Sideband Suppressed Carrier, Single Sideband, Vestigial Sideband
• Angle Modulation: Wideband Frequency Modulation, Narrowband Frequency Modulation and
Angle Modulation
• Pulse Modulation: Pulse Amplitude Modulation, Pulse Position Modulation and Pulse Duration
Modulation
• Frequency Modulation: Balanced Frequency Discrimination, FM Demodulation using PLL, Pulse
Demodulation, Analog Communication System Design
• Channel: Gaussian Noise, AM Signal, FM Signal, Pulse Modulated Signal at the Receiver Front End
• Receiver: Filter Demodulation, Amplitude Modulation-Envelope Detector, Square Law Detector,
DSBSC Coherent Demodulation, SSB Coherent Demodulation
