Role of the Zone Configuration


Manager (ZCM)

Used to configure the Radio


System Infrastructure (such as
RF sites) at the zone-level

Every zone has a ZCM to


manage infrastructure in that
zone

Configuration process creates


the Infrastructure Database
which is stored by the User
Configuration Server (UCS) and
Zone Database Server (ZDS)

ZCM application operates within

Tasks Performed in the ZCM

Used to configure information for the radio system infrastructure during


various stages of the systems life

ZCM tasks:

Initial configuration of the zone infrastructure equipment


Add or update zone infrastructure equipment records
Execute diagnostic commands to force a device in the zone into a
certain functional state

Organization of the ZCM

Accessed via the Private Radio Network Management (PRNM) Suite Application Launcher

ZCM contains the object class Radio System Infrastructure.

A object can be an:


Representation of a system device (i.e. Zone Controller)
Device connectivity (i.e. Call Route)

Launching the ZCM


1. Double-click the PRNM
Application Launcher icon on
the desktop.

2. Click a Cluster folder to display


Zones associated with that
Cluster.
3. Click a Zone folder.
4. Double-click Zone
Configuration Manager in righthand pane.

the Zone Database Server (ZDS) to the User

Air Traffic Router (ATR) Object

Configures the ATR Server

The ATR Server:


Collects radio system usage data from the
Zone Controller and distributes the zones
radio system usage data

Monitors and tracks all activity on the system


including call traffic

Each Zone requires a ATR Server

Created Automatically when a zone is completely


installed and connected to the system

Can not delete ATR record after the system is


operational

Alias Server Object

Processes the log on/off requests from the


radio users

Tracks bindings between RUIs and ISSIs


and handles forwarding configuration

Generates events to CCI clients as a result


of a log on/off

Enables clients to determine the


logged/booked on state of radio users and
radio terminals

Alias Server Object (2)

After an Alias Server instance is created, a corresponding Zone to AS


Map instance is created (in UCM), with no Zones assigned
To make the Alias Server support one or more Zones, assign the
Zones to the Alias Server via the Zone to AS Map instance

Forbidden to delete an Alias Server which has a mapped Zone


To delete an Alias Server, first delete all its Zone assignments in
Zone to AS Map

If Alias Server is deleted, the corresponding Zone to AS Map instance is


also deleted

Maximum of one Alias Server per Zone can be created

Manages the attributes relating to the zone


controller for a zone

Operates in stand-alone or integrated mode

Created automatically when a zone is


completely installed and connected to the
system

Can not delete ZC record after the system is


operational

Download Subscriber Access Control (SAC)
and Infrastructure Database from ZDS

Control RP Router Object

Configures the Control Rendezvous Point


(RP) Router
Control RP Router distributes IP traffic via
IP Multicast

The IP multicast address range and the


normal IP (unicast) address can be
configured

Core RP Router Object

Licenses are required to enable Store and

MTIG (Motorola Telephone


Interconnect Gateway) Object

Acts as a gateway in the TI architecture

Provides voice transcoding between the


external PABX and the Dimetra IP network

Two types of MTIGs are used:


MTIG-E1 and MTIG-IP

Up to four MTIG records per zone can be


created
Possible to choose E1 and IP connection link
types, however both E1 and IP connections
can not be supported simultaneously

Number of simultaneous calls is licensed for


MTIG-IP

Records may be deleted as needed

Indicates that the call shall go to a specific
