Increasing ROI with


live online training
Why GoToMeeting Corporate scores highest for ROI and
customer loyalty.
Executive summary
Organizations of every shape and size are feeling the strain of geographically dispersed customers
and employees — particularly training departments tasked with getting distributed end users up and
running with the latest technology, programs or procedures. The caveat, of course, is that training
departments don’t have the luxury of a private jet, increased headcount or bigger budget to meet this
enormous global burden.

As a result, many training departments are considering online training to simply and cost-effectively
accommodate far-flung end users. The first challenge, of course, is picking the best online training
solution. Ease of use and performance top the list for solution attributes, for what good does online
training do if end users and trainers can’t use it? Next, carefully considering solutions that garner the
loyalty of other training experts is important because customer loyalty has become a strong indicator
of a solid online training solution. Finally, pitching an online training solution to management is going to
require tangible proof of return on investment (ROI) to make the case.

The eLearning GuildTM, a member-driven online information center committed to advancing the field of
e-learning, commissioned a study entitled Synchronous Learning Systems to better understand live
online learning. This independently collected research illustrates how Citrix® GoToMeeting® Corporate

Trainers don’t have time to wade through a difficult setup. They need their software to be up and running immediately. The ability to set up
an online training program and quickly schedule a training session is critical for success.

Citrix Online also rated highest in ease of use of passing application-sharing controls to attendees (see Figure 2). This capability highlights a
user’s ability to demonstrate application use.

According to the report, GoToMeeting Corporate delivered a more accelerated time to competency, or learning curve, for presenters using
the system (see Figure 4). Enabling presenters to become experts with the training software means that they’re able to get down to the
business of training faster and more cost-effectively.

Performance
The eLearning Guild also awarded highest marks to Citrix Online for ease of use in showing/demonstrating software applications in real
time (see Figure 5). With GoToMeeting Corporate, there’s no need to upload anything; the software enables presenters — and attendees, if
designated — to share anything on their screens in real time, which means attendees always see what the presenter sees.

Customer loyalty
The 360° Report also bestowed highest honors to GoToMeeting Corporate for customer loyalty (see Figure 6). And not just highest marks
— a perfect score. That means that none of the eLearning Guild members currently using GoToMeeting Corporate are considering a
switch to another solution in the next 12 months.

For the purposes of this report, the eLearning Guild applied a weighted score to customers’ overall satisfaction with each product’s
features. The result? GoToMeeting Corporate ranked best for overall feature satisfaction (see Figure 7).

The perfect score garnered by GoToMeeting Corporate for customer loyalty, then, should come as no surprise. In the world of online
training, it’s not about having the most features — it’s about having the right features delivered seamlessly.
